Touching on Important Issues

08.31.2004

Reader Scott brought up a key issue in this election. I have noticed a lack of coverage on this issue by the liberal media, and I’m sure it is because they know they are way under par this election.

Scott Says:

Lets get back to the important stuff;

Who has the better looking daughters and ole lady?

The Ole Lady part is as obvious as day is to nite. Nobody wants a ‘loose cannon’ like the psycho hose beast Heinz.

But the daughters! Now that is extremely important. I don’t even wanna bring up the 8 miserable years of having to look at Chealsea Clinton… that was bad enough. But comparing Dubya’s lovely daughter with Hanoi John’s? Well… you be the judge.

Sarahk came to me in dire need of a favicon. And with my extremely swell skills, produced her this:

So, with her influential feminine ways, she told the great Frank J. and we made an accord. I would make him a favicon, and he would grant me passage into the afterlife. After carefully weighing the pro’s and con’s of this pact, I consented.

And so I produced this:

That is the moon gettin’ nuked. As it may seem absurd to readers who are unfamiliar with Frank J’s Realistic Plan For World Peace, it actually makes complete sense.

Later in the comments of Franks J’s favicon announcement post, SpaceMonkey brought to my attention the need for the favicon to show “less moon, more nuke”. Having completely agreed, I came back with The Super Favicon Deluxe Edition:

A zoom in on the nuke. Wether or not he upgrades to The Super Deluxe Edition, is yet to be seen.

RNC thoughts

MccainOh man, I just watched Mccain’s speech on C-SPAN. He delievered one EXCELLENT speech. Powerful, precise, and ALL American. Those liberal dogs cannot stand against us.

The fat bastard got some huge boo’s when Mccain said:

And certainly not a disingenuous film maker who would have us believe that Saddam’s Iraq was an oasis of peace when in fact it was a place of indescribable cruelty, torture chambers, mass graves and prisons that destroyed the lives of the small children held inside their walls.

This part really packed a punch for me

What our enemies have sought to destroy is beyond their reach. It cannot be taken from us. It can only be surrendered.

Dubya Commercial

08.30.2004

I’m a big fan of Will Farrell. The guy splits my stomach. This latest Anchorman was great. One of my favorites was his role as the Architect in the MTV matrix II spoof. Especially when he tells neo to “Watch the sass, Captain Sassy Pants!”. It’s too bad how hollyweird has completely warped the minds of all the funny guys too. I mean, its the same way with Jack Black, they’re all just ‘Bush = Hitler’ ‘Michael Moore = Super Smart Supreme Being” types.

Well, even if this Will Farrell movie is anti-Bush. It just makes me love Dubya all the more. But I think Will does the greatest Dubya impression.

Darwin Award?

This one goes out to my buddy Jarrid, from the great state of Georgia.

Mon Aug 30,11:46 AM ET

ATLANTA (Reuters) - A Georgia man who drove home with a friend’s headless body after a truck accident then went to bed while the remains dangled out the window faces charges including vehicular homicide and drunk driving, police said on Monday.

Umm…. thats disgusting.

Police said that Hutcherson and his friend, identified as Francis Brohm, 23, were returning from a bar outside Atlanta early Sunday morning when their black 1992 Chevrolet Z-71 pickup hit a curb near a telephone pole.

Brohm, partially outside the window at the time, was decapitated by a guide wire on the telephone pole, according to police, who recovered his head at the crash site. “Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor,” police said.

To all the party animals reading this… Don’t drink and drive. Because you might hit a curb with your nice truck, and thats bad cause it could knock your aligment out of tune.

Psycho Liberal Asshats Swarm NYC

08.30.2004

There they are… the masses of crazies, homo’s, druggies, commie’s and furriners. Yup, don’t they look convincing.

Accusing the White House of waging an unjust war in Iraq, making the country poorer and undermining abortion rights.

So the protestors like to paint themselves a pretty picture by claiming the numbers equaled 500,000 asshats. But the popular guesstimation is 120,000 asshats.

Okay, so these model citizens claim Dubya is a bad man. Lets see here…

Fifteen people were arrested and two police officers were injured when someone set a paper dragon float afire near Madison Square Garden, and nine demonstrators were charged with assault after trying to stop police from arresting the culprit, authorities said.

Whoops. Kinda throws that arguement out the window.

Okay, and now for my favorite part.

In a smaller protest, police used clubs briefly to disperse a handful of demonstrators holding a “kiss-in” not far from Times Square. There were no immediate details about injuries or arrests.

Haha! So…. a bunch of goofy, free lovin’ hippy type kids, are all out havin’ a nice “Kiss in”. Now.. “what in tarnation is a Kiss In??!!”, you might be asking yourself. Thats a mighty good question. Well, it is equivilent to a stand in… but you get to do some kissin’.

Awwww… isn’t that precious. But it didn’t last for long when the officers clubbed a couple of em. haha! That just makes me want to join the police force. I wish I could have that kind of fun. Some people get all the luck.

Well, it didn’t stop the Protest Warriors from being there. No way. The Pw’rs love a good protest to hijack. I only wish I could have made it there. Although I can’t say I’m even remotely interested in visiting such a city of filth. Gimme the backwoods anyday. My only motivation for goin would be CONFLICT! mua haha… I thrive on conflict. Brings to mind that bumper sticker that says “Some people are only alive, simply because its illegal to kill them”.

CDA Rodeo

08.29.2004

Went to the local rodeo today. There were a couple of good bull rides too, but I should have gone on friday or saturday. They probably had more bronc riders then. One of the cowboys got his head smacked pretty good by the bulls forhead, but he walked away. I tried to get some better pics, but they didn’t quite come out as good as I’d have liked. Other than that, it was a fun time.

Warning Against Rejecting Wisdom

08.29.2004

Proverbs 1:20-33

20 Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22 “How long will you simple ones love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?
23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.

24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,
25 since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me.
29 Since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD ,
30 since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

Designing is fun

08.27.2004

Alright, It’s credit time. I had alot of fun workin with Wordpress, so a big thanks to the fellers who put this deal together. If you wanna start a weblog, definetly go with WP. Rebuilding is not unlike the sponsorship of terrorism. However odd that sounds, it is true. Server’s are to innocent bus passengers, as rebuilding is to blowing stuff up. I, for one, like to blow stuff up. But no varmint is ever an innocent varmint.

Next, I have to say that this site’s look and feel was heavily influenced by Jeffery Zeldman. With his neat tricks like the 800×600 Button, you can make sure that your site is up to the design standards.

Paul Sowdon at A List Apart was the first to write the style sheet switcher. (which I’m still working on) The style sheet switcher are the 5 buttons in the upper right. This allows the reader to customize his screen. As you can see, I have the text align buttons working. I have to search my style sheet for what the error is with the Text Sizer.

I also used Todd Dominey’s source to figure out some of the Style Sheet Switcher config. As you can see he has a fully functioning SSS on his site.

I’d also like to plug the Kalsy Consulting Group, on their simple button maker.

If you’re a designer, or interested in web design standards, I encourage you to read through these sites. They will prove to be good resources, and examples of what a website should be.

Way to go, Idaho!

08.27.2004

sweet dude. alright, I have every button working, cept for the Text resizer in the upper right, and the photo journal, which needs a design change (that’ll take forever).

Note the wallpaper link, cos I have a couple new things up.

My main beef, is that IE shows the main font as Arial, whereas Netscape shows it as it should be. Georgia. So air-five to anyone using netscape. I’m not sure how it looks in firefox, if you’re using firefox, let me know what font this looks to be.

Time to mess with the CSS somemore. dang it.

UPDATE ยป I just found a new beef. When I imported my MT entries, WP converted all of my apostrophe’s into question marks. So if you see ?’s in weird places… thats why.

v4.0 is here!

08.27.2004

welcome to the new pass the ammo. forgive me while it takes time to tweak everything around into its proper place. And be a pal and let me know if you come across any dead links, or poorly designed sections. thanks!

you’ll note that the main navigation buttons directly above this post are all dead links. to access all that old stuff you can go here: http://frontierwebdesign.com/passtheammo

It’s only a matter of time before i get everything transfered over to here, though. So stay tuned.

PTA V4.0

08.26.2004

Well, I am in the process of designing a Pass The Ammo v4.0. I’m sick of movable type publishing program, and switching to sweet Wordpress.

For those interested, I could use a few critics to let me know what I can do to make it better. See it so far: wait… yer lookin’ at it. enojoy!
