Just got in from tonites event. My back is killin’ me from standing so long. This year was CDA’s best year ever. Record attendance, of over 200 people, with one gun givin’ away for every ten people.

Sadly enough, I didn’t win the Springfield .45 1911 that I was tryin’ for. Turns out the lady sittin’ at our table, won both the game raffle guns, from the booth I was working. In this picture here, I’d like to point out that the older feller lookin’ at the .45, is a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He’s the first CMH recipient, that I have ever met, and it was a great honor.

Who here can guess what shirt I’m wearin under my plaid button-up?

My Old Man had a blast tonite. He went crazy and pretty much bought most every framed print, of deer scene’s and retreiver dogs, and an awesome huge rug, with a scene of an old cabin that reminds me of The Fox and the Hound. All those he won in the silent auction, save for one.

And this is where it got wild.

My Old Man was lookin to make an impression amoung fellow NRA members here in town, and he SURE did. Theres a statue of Lewis & Clark up for live auction. Fair trade price is $86. Around 200 bucks, it gets down to just my Old Man, and this other lady… and it got into the biggest competetion all night. Just back and forth, back and forth… the auctioneer was just workin them great. This lady would not give up, it went on, and on, and on, and on… I start thinkin on how my Old Man is gonna pay me next weeks wages, and it still keeps goin’ on and on. I promised my mom I woulden’t disclose the amount my Old Man paid for that statue. But I will tell you, that it beat the Idaho state record for the most money brought in on that certain statue.

In the very end, my dad was standin right next to her, starin her right in the eye, and she starin him down, and they were just bidding, and bidding, until FINALLY. The lady stands up, announces her name and occupation, so all would know her, then gives it to my dad. So he walked away, as the all time champ of the nite. Shoulda seen the crowd just goin’ wild during this. Everybody was out of their seats, a whoopin’ and a hollerin’. A real good time.

And what I got out of this deal, was a new buddy. Named him Marshall Dillon, after the show Gunsmoke, with James Arness.

The Marshall and I My old man won him in the live auction, then gave him to me. So that topped my night off.

The only part that got to me was my bad back. Standing there and having folks who won auction items, sign off for them, got old after an hour. Also, I donated a website worth $400, but unfortunately it only made us $275. Maybe we’ll do better next year. Thats it for tonite folks. My back hurts, and I’m goin to bed. Got church in the morning.
