Man on Fire movie
09.14.04For those of you who have seen the movie Man on Fire with Denzel Washington, I’m not ashamed to admit that I cried like a 6 year old girl (both times of watching it) at the last scene on the bridge.
If only that was the way justice was dealt out. I’ll tell ya, crime would be at an all time low.
Moral I took away from this movie: Parents, go out today, buy yourself a .38 special and keep it in your purse/pocket/glove compartment. One of these days, it may never happen, but IF it does, you will not regret having a peace tool to use. Better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it. My favorite gun quote.
If your child cannot look to you for protection, who can that child look to?
Certainly not the police force. It is only a job to them. Every American has the right to protect his family, property, and loved ones. Use that right and protect that right, before the insane left takes it away.
Teach your children the importance of gun safety. By instructing them with firearm use, you will get rid of that curiosity that children have of firearms. It will no longer be the mystery that could get them or someone else hurt. With proper instruction, a firearm should be no more interesting than a tool on dads workbench in the garage. Because a firearm is exactly that, a tool.
For those who say that guns kill, you are sadly mistaken. It is a hard heart that kills.
Proverbs 22:6
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

I agree with ya on this one. Great post. The only thing I have a little beef with is the law enforcement part. I myself am a law enforcer and to me, it’s not just a job. If it were just a job, crimes would not be commited just by the criminals but by the law enforcement as well. We have enough crooked cops as it is. I joined so I could be that other cop. The one like in the old days where the people respected you and looked up to you. The times when police were seen as protectors and not harassers might be long gone, but I can do my little part to keep the purpose of law enforcement in its proper place. But, like most things in life, this is a two part job. The people need to cooperate in order for the practice of law enforcement to work the way it was intended to. Cooperation is the best way to keep police harassment to a minimum if not completely absent. If you cooperate, your chances of getting off free are extremely enhanced. Nothing makes a cops job easier than dealing with cooperative people. Keep this in mind the next time you get a ticket. Cooperation is key.

Heath, explain this Tumor handle, you’ve been using. Is that what the other cops call you?
And about the arguement, it has been officially stated that it is not the police departments job to protect you. Their job is to do the paperwork and find the bad guy, AFTER the crime has been committed.
Therefore, it is only a job to them. That is why there are crooked cops in most any outfit. Not every outfit, but it is undisputed that they are out there.
The reason it is only a job to them, is because you are not their family, so you are not a high priority for their protection.
The reason Creasy went after the bad guys so effectively, is because it wasn’t a job to him. It was personal. He cared for the little girl, and made it his duty to avenge her.
If only our police officers nowadays, would think of every case in that manner. That is asking alot, I know. They have to put up with alot of crap from the thug kids, and the wacked out drug addicts, that their job tends to bring them down, into an attitude, that everyone is the enemy.
It is that reason, why I respect any and every law enforement officer. They have to deal with non-stop morons. So they deserve anyones respect.
Unless they’re crooked of course.
# September 15th, 2004 at 5:55 pmWhat was that interview on NPR?
The guy who was training boy scouts in using rifles, and gun safety.
The interviewer lady said, “Aren’t you equipping them to be killers?”
He goes, “You’re equipped to be a prostitute, but you’re not.”
I think I saw that somewhere, might even have been here.
