Notes On The Debate
09.30.04Update » Did Kerry flip flop at all during the debate???

1. Kerry says “I WILL hunt down the terrorists, and kill them”
Uhh…. does that sound like John Kerry to you?
2. Dubya is already showing up Kerry, not even half way into it.
3. I noticed Kerry constantly scribbling on his little notepad, he’s probably drawing that same thing that Jackie Treehorn scribbled in the movie The Big Labowski. Dubya doesn’t need to goof off with a notepad. He’s focused, steadfast, and passionate about this debate.
Well, overall I think Dubya dominated this one. We’ll see how the next one goes. In the mean time, y’all remember when Kerry met up with some marines at Wendy’s while ordering a square burger? Scott sent me this photo that captured their thoughts at the moment.
Update » Big Sean adds a good comment. I thought I’d add it here.
Ok… I think the only thing that Kerry did right last night was that he was a very skilled debater. But if we look at what he said we can find so many holes!
1) He accused Bush of not preparing the military enough for the war in Iraq. He even sited the humvees that lacked armor and the soldiers that lacked body armor… wait a minute? Wasn’t that what the 87 billion dollars was for that Kerry voted against?
2) Kerry was asked the question why did he call Bush a liar and Kerry’s response was, “I never ever used that strong word about the president.”
FACT: In September 2003, Kerry Said Bush Administration “Lied” And “Misled.” “This administration has lied to us. They have misled us. And they have broken their promises to us. The president promised to the people and the Congress that he would build an international coalition, respect the United Nations’ process and only go to war as a last resort. I will tell you that from my war fighting experience, I believe there is a test for a president as to how you go to war. And that test is whether or not you can look in the eyes of parents and say to them, ‘I did everything possible to avoid the loss of your son and daughter, but we had no other choice in order to protect the security of our nation,’ and I know this president fails that test in Iraq.” (Sen. John Kerry, Campaign Event, Claremont, NH, 9/20/03)
3) Kerry talks about being tough in the war on terror, but this is the same man who voted against the B-1 bomber, the Trident missle system, the Tomahawk missle, and many other weapons upgrades.
4) Kerry says that he wanted to strengthen our inteligence system… but he proposed legislation that would take billions of dollars away from the CIA.
5) Kerry said that he “never has wilted”. This was in response to Bush’s accusation that the world does not need someone who wilts under political pressure… do i really need to say anything on this?
I will give the Senator one thing… with the limited arsonal that he had to fight with at the debate he used it all and pretty effectively… Bush on the other hand had alot of bombshells he could use but only used a few.
Bottom line… Debating style- Kerry wins
Substance and Leadership and all the things that really matter- Bush by a landslide

im still not quite sure… did Kerry serve in Vietnam???? How many times did he mention that tonight?
# September 30th, 2004 at 7:54 pmi was sitting in one of the dorm rooms, it was me and one other republican watching the debate with 8 other democrats. it was funny, i would cheer on bush when he would say something good, and all i got was ugly smurks, but when they cheered for keery, all i said was “flip-flop” good times!
# September 30th, 2004 at 8:31 pmhaha. I’ll bet that was kinda intense.

Oh I forgot to mention the “global test” remark… I think that Chad you should write up a “global test” and put it on this site. Ridiculous.
# October 1st, 2004 at 8:28 amKerry has a long history of being “Anti-premption”. What makes him think we are gunna belive him now. And don’t get me started talkin about that $200 Billion remark of his when he said it should be spent on healthcare and meds for seniors. Just last year he said that we should spend as many billions of dollars it takes to win. This dude is the King of Waffling… Bush was not eliquent but He kicked Kerry’s ass just the same.
# October 1st, 2004 at 10:04 amKerry made Bush look like the third-grade brain-damaged goof that he really is. He acted like one. Bush didn’t have anything to say and often had lots of extra time. HE stammered and stuttered because he’s not smart enough to remember his lines. When he got stuck for a response, he’d simply fall back to the prepared theme and repeat it. He does NOT know what he’s doing as President. Osama Bin Laden is responsible for 9-11, OBL is NOT in Iraq and
not connected with Iraq. Bush Attacking Iraq was a personal response because Saddam attacked GBush Sr. while in office. This is a war of revenue. Yea, Saddam is a bad guy and the world _IS_ a better place without him but he could have been contained while we focused on getting OBL instead of letting OBL slip away! What abour Iran and North Korea having WMD? Why has Bush allowed those situations to grow? Because he IGNORES things and instead focuses on what he “beleives-in” instead of taking off his blinders and working with the world. The rest of the world knows bush is an idiot, let’s hope the US wakes up to this fact.
PS check a debate transcript on what was said about calling GWB a liar. You are spinning.
# October 1st, 2004 at 12:15 pmI thought Dubya was whooped in the debating, because he was not as good a master-debater as Kerry.
# October 1st, 2004 at 1:13 pmKerry is the flip-flop king! He is good at speaking.
Dubya not too good at speaking, but then again neither was Moses.
Both Moses and Dubya are much better leaders than silver tongue flip-flop ever could dream of being.
I am still voting Dubya.
God bless him, I was praying for him to speak well, as i am sure plenty of others did. Keep praying! Keep the faith alive!
Wow, bubba! That was powerful… You know what? Your method of character bashing and conspiracy spewing really is begining to change minds. People are realizing your kind is crazy and begining to side with the president. Keep up the good work my friend.
I can’t believe I am even going to honor your radical complaints with responses but you know what, if your American, you deserve to know the truth.
“Bush didn’t have anything to say and often had lots of extra time.”
I don’t know about you, but I watched the debates on television and saw that the president was actually the candidate who came the closest to being buzzed because he would teter on the edge of talking to long.
“HE stammered and stuttered because he’s not smart enough to remember his lines. When he got stuck for a response, he’d simply fall back to the prepared theme and repeat it.”
First of all, this is ridiculous… President Bush has one of the best memories in the world. He is famous for being able to meet a large group of people for the first time and remember everyone of their names. Plus, I don’t know about you but going to Yale and then later to Harvard business school for a Masters is not a “stupid” mans ideal career track. Also this prepared theme you speak about? Which one was that? Was it the one where he said that we should not send mixed messages to the world so that people begin to take us seriously? Or was it the one where he said we need to stand by the Iraqi people in this time of struggle in order to secure Iraq and have a bastion of stability in an unstable region which is good for all the world not only Americans?
“Osama Bin Laden is responsible for 9-11, OBL is NOT in Iraq and not connected with Iraq.”
Well, captain obvious… we know that OBL is responsible for 9-11 but the war is not called the war on OBL… it is called the war on terror. Terrorism was practiced and encouraged regularly by Saddam and he was a mounting threat to the world. This is what the whole world thought when they passed the last UN resolution before the war that promised “serious consequences” if there was not full compliance on the part of Saddam. There was not. So, America, along with other allies enforced the UN resolution by physically removing him from power.
“This is a war of revenue.”
I really do not know what this means, because we are not making any money off of this war. America is not getting one drop of Iraqi oil and we are spending billions of dollars trying to rebuild their infrastructure.
“What abour Iran and North Korea having WMD? Why has Bush allowed those situations to grow?”
N. Korea and Iraq are two diffent situations with generations of policy seperating the two. Just because one key opens a door doesn’t mean it is the right key for another door. China has a large sway over N. Korea and when the president brought China into the discussions he was acting very wisely to bring about diplomatic pressure on the N. Koreans. John Kerry said last night that he wanted to restore one-on-one talks with N. Korea but also said that in Iraq we need international support… which one is it John? Iran is a different story. I think in the next few years you will see the world take a very hardline stance on Iran probably lead by the United States regardless of who is president. But to say that the president let other countries develop WMD’s while he focused our attentions on Iraq is ludicrous… what about Lybia? Their leader realized that he did not want the might of the united States to fall on his little country so he disarmed. this is because our president sent a clear message to the world that if you harbor terrorists then you are as bad as the terrorists and we are coming after you too.
“The rest of the world knows bush is an idiot, let’s hope the US wakes up to this fact. ”
Well it is good to know that you are also calling the leaders of England, Poland, Spain, and Russia retarded too. I can say this because people on both sides of the relationships say that the leaders of these countries are good friends with the president and respect him alot. I also think it says alot about people that hate a person for defending his country. All i can say is God Bless America.
“PS check a debate transcript on what was said about calling GWB a liar. You are spinning. ”
Thats where i got it from there big stuff.
Well, I hope I answered some of your questions. Now go back to MoveOn.org and cut and paste some more propaganda in response to me.
# October 1st, 2004 at 1:24 pmOWNED!!!!
# October 1st, 2004 at 2:00 pmKerry obviously flip-flopped, but he owned the debate. Mainly because of the scum from NPR news, however Bush performed horribly. Bush better get his act together for the next debate or we could be sitting listening to this anti-gun leftist troll for the next four years.
# October 4th, 2004 at 10:05 amNorth Korea? Iraq? Similarities? Hardly. This war with Iraq was like slapping that 4′ 3″ bully at high school. You know that lil guy who thinks hes tuff stuff? Yah, we’re that older brother who comes in a gives him that nuclear wedgie! The casualties we got are those other lil weasels in the bushes throwing small rocks. Now, if we were to go up against countries like North Korea, or China…we’d be having a hell of a lot harder time than we are now. Nations like those are prepared and have armies that can actually pass as “formidable”. Don’t go talkin about how our president should be going after those guys because you don’t know jack! Persoanlly I’m grateful we aren’t attacking the N Koreans…I’d be toast. Just to let ya’ll know, we here in Korea…we’re a speed bump. I’d appreciate it if you thought a little more about who we should attack before you start spouting things you know nothing about.
