How About Them Apples
11.21.04Good gear, strong faith keeps Marine in the fight.
“God was definitely looking out for me,” said Guillenavila, who hopes to one day become the sergeant major of the Marine Corps. “It wasn’t my time to go. I need to be here continuing the fight.”
When he returned to the camp here, Guillenavila and some of the Marines from his squad dug the bullet out of the plate. They found it in three pieces inside the plate’s layers. All three pieces are now in a plastic bag inside Guillenavila’s pocket.
“It’s my newest lucky charm,” he said.
It’s old news, but still a good read.

Enlist you a–holes. My husband’s over in Afghanistan because pricks like you refuse to join the army. If you’re so gung-ho about Bush and his illegal Iraq war then you go fight it. COWARDS!!!!!
# November 21st, 2004 at 12:58 pmI don’t mean to ask to much of you, but try to think a little more before leaving a comment. It doesn’t do you any favors to look like an idiot.
First, I wish more than ever that I could be over in Fallujah right now with the Marines. That option was taken away from me, when I had surgery on the L4-L5, and I lost 23% of my back.
Second, tell your husband that I said thanks for going out to do the dirty work, and that I’m jaelous.
Third, Illegal war? Do even you know what your talkin about? You obviously care only for yourself, and your own interests, and not for the advancement of freedom and democracy. You obviously care not for the mass graves of women and little children who were slaughtered by the likes of Saddam and his terrorist-harboring country.
And Fourth, why are you too scared to leave your email? Find it comforting that you can drive by a conversation, talk smalk, and drive off with no consequences?
Educate yourself, and try not to be so damn selfish, and thoughtless.
# November 21st, 2004 at 2:22 pmWho’s the coward here? I doubt she is even a veterans wife. I smell something…yeah that smells like buffalo puckey to me.

# November 21st, 2004 at 7:05 pmCowards? There are plenty of us (who frequent this site) who have served. And just because you havn’t served in the military doesn’t make you a coward. The fact that Chad and Sean stand up for what they believe (despite being criticized by selfish, spoiled, little liberals) makes them patriots in their own right. The fact that you can dishonor your husbands sacrifice in order to insult anothers values shows me what type of person you are: detestable.
# November 21st, 2004 at 9:17 pmIllegal war in Iraq? Correct me if I’m wrong: Saddam Hussein signed a cease-fire agreement in 1991 that he violated more than a dozen times before 2003. According to that agreement, the U.S. could have legally gone into Iraq the FIRST time Saddam violated it.
# November 22nd, 2004 at 11:25 amKate it would sound to me (if you’re telling the truth which I very much doubt) like he’s probably isn’t to fussed on getting back to you anytime real soon. I feel sorry for the man.
I’ve been lurking for some time guy’s BUT I just had to say something, I sure do LOVE this site.
# November 23rd, 2004 at 2:40 amGlad to have you on board partner. Feel free to indulge in the smack talk on liberals!
# November 23rd, 2004 at 2:45 amJJ- I love you (in a truely not gay way) and thank you for your defense of us.
# November 23rd, 2004 at 1:59 pmYeah, JJ’s the Man!
