11.11.04I can’t say I’ve ever really got much hate mail here at PTA, but apparently my ignorance has astounded this fine friend from canada.
“This has to be one of the most offensive websites I’ve ever seen. Your ignorance is astounding. Referring to Middle Easterners as “Mohammeds” is racism. Celebrating guns is foolish. They should be outlawed. Taking scripture as stricture is sophomoric, unscientific and short-sighted. Patriotism is nothing more than over-zealous nationalism and isn’t that what created Hitler?
Now, granted since I am from Canada, you’ll undoubtedly call me some sort of liberal, communist, socialist, pot-smoking lefty, but it’s way better here than there. Good luck, America. You’re gonna need it. I wouldn’t be surprised if you now threaten me because it seems violence is the only thing you understand. Later Losers.”
Racism? Here? Nah. We believe in culturalism. Meaning that skin color doesn’t make a man lesser than another, his culture does. Face it, some cultures are better than others. And nobody here has referred to a “middle easterner” as a mohammed. If you are referring to this post, you might be wiser to read the whole clip and note that the fellers name happens to be Mohammed.
Not very patriotic? well, don’t feel bad. I can undestand that Canada only has so much to be proud of.
Celebrating guns is foolish??? Now who’s the ignorant one. You must be for these “common sensed” 40 reasons to ban guns. Or you can read up on all of the armed citizens (not criminals, like you would make them out to be). Heck, punch in canada in the search, and see what you get.

Secondly, I’m not quite sure who you are talking too, as nobody has claimed to ever be canadian besides the feller who sent me the email.
I’m not sure who you know that gets their “jollies” by maiming children and innocents, but its nobody that I know.
And my mother (who happens to be a beautiful LADY) woulden’t appreciate you talking about her that way. If you were even remotely a “goddess” or even a “lady” yourself, for that matter, you would probably have chosen a more educated and thought provoking comment/insult.

After all, his government recently enacted penalties for “hate-speech”. Specifically, punishing individuals for statements that could potentially lead to the ridicule or hatred of others.

Just like “hate crime” laws, this is a violation of civil liberties. In the case of a hate crime, the court is not only punishing the crime, but the thought behind it. In essence, the court punishes an individual’s thought process.
Canada’s big-sister, France, has also fined citizens for “hate speech”. In June, French actress Brigitte Bardot was fined $6,000 dollars for writing a book that was critical of Muslims in France - her fourth fine since 1997.
So don’t expect our Canadian friend to respect your freedom of thought or speech, his government doesn’t respect either.

1) You imply that Americans think we are better than the rest of the world. Well unlike Europe, we have alot of backing to our claim… we have the strongest military, strongest economy, highest wealth per capita, most money invested in international affairs, police force of the world, and many other things that Europe cannot claim. But if I understand your background correctly, you think that our strict adherence to a moral authority is discriminating and reprehensible. Well, we contend that it makes us stronger… due to the fact that liberal countries tend to not be able to get any business done as a result of their ambiguous law systems.
2) Chad hit up on this one so please refer to his argument on this point.
3) Importing labor??? Yah, right. I live in San Diego and we are trying to export that labor. We want them gone. Now I will agree that there are some corrupt people who want to use these people as cheap labor but those people are breaking the law and should be punished. America, compared to Mexico is the promised land… if this was not the consent why then doesn’t the Mexican government scream about the injustice of the American oppressors? They don’t… they actually encourage them to come here to work because it sends good money back to Mexico. Plus these people get to take advantage of our tax payer supported medical system which they don’t have to pay into because they work under the table. No, we do not want them here illegally. There is a long line of people trying to get here legally… let them come in.
4) Yes I will agree with you that Chad’s choice of words did not help his argument but if you discount his argument that a population is better when it has guns just because of what he said there is to not be very reasonable… only judge an argument on the merit of the arguments defences not on the arguers character.

# November 12th, 2004 at 2:36 pmOne note about culturalism… I do believe that some cultures breed evil (rapper culture), but I do not ascribe to the culturist viewpoint. I think that each historical culture (European, African, Asian, etc…) highlight certian aspects of humanity that are very real and worthy of consideration. The hispanic culture, for example, is a big supporter of close families. European cultures tend to value technology and individual acheivements. Each culture brings something to the table that should be valued. When this web site says “we” believe in culturism, I, Sean McCrary, am not included in that we.
