Goin’ Critter Wackin

12.29.2004

Updated Twice

Photos are up!

Whelp, I git to wake up nice and early tomarrow morning. I got me about a 6 hour drive to Scott’s ranch in Montana. So I won’t be on for the next few days. We’re gonna do some varmint huntin with some buddies (hopefully we’ll get us some coyotes), and they’re gonna put me to work around the ranch.

Eight o’clock is a mighty ungodly hour in my book. So hopefully I won’t fall asleep on the road. ;)

I’ll just need a pot of coffee and some good ol’ boy tunes to keep me truckin.

Last couple days have been fun. They got their first calf in a couple days back. A few weeks early, and it looks suspiciously like the neighbors bull.

The day following my arrival, all of the snow decided to fall. So we didn’t get any huntin’ in that first day. But today was beautiful and clear so we went out. It was Scott, Lacy, Ryan and his girlfriend, and I. We didn’t get any coyotes. I can’t believe we didn’t see any, cos I ain’t never seen so much sign in all my born days. We did see a pack of mule deer up on a ridge.

We did find a kill though. We suspect it was a mountain lion or a wolf. The coyotes got to it after the killer left. So there was plenty of fur and blood around. You could see where the deer was dragged around in the snow too. It was pretty neat.

So while drivin out we stopped just in front of a jack rabbit sittin’ on the side of the road. So I popped it with the AR-15. And that was about the extent of our coyote hunt.

I’m headin out of here tomarrow ’round 10:30. They say the snow and ice isn’t half bad once I get past Butte, so that’ll be good.

A couple pics to go up within the next day.

Change of plans. We decided to go out lookin fer coyotes again this morning. So we took off around 7am. It was a whopping 0 degrees out there, but we had our coffee.

We drove around for a good while, and didn’t see a one blasted coyote out there. After makin it to the top of the mountain we were goin up, Scott thinks we should pull the chains off so we can get down faster. Welp, not soon after he slides into a ditch. So we had to do some diggin. I got a couple pics that I’ll post when I get home.

We came across some lion hunters who said they saw some coyotes. Of course we’re the ones who didn’t get to spot em. Thats how it always goes. Well, I’m takin off from here shortly. Should be home in about 6 hours, depending on how the pass’ look.

Local Bad News

12.29.2004

We had a pretty upsetting incident happen here in town couple days ago. One of the locals, whom we knew on a business level, just decided to end it all by suicide by police.

When I was over there earlier this year, he seemed like he had everything together nicely. A decent house, newer pick up truck, a party garage where I set his pool table up. I liked his fridge that was tapped for a beer keg. Gotta get me one of them. Back on track, he pulled a hit and run, somebody got his plate number, and when 3 officers showed up at his house, he shot one of them in the face. It was a newer officer in town too. It’s pretty sad. He (the officer) was flown over to Seattle in critical condition. I really hope he pulls through.

The Kids Are Our Future

12.29.2004

”Those … square containers are awfully hard for kids,” says New Hampshire Agriculture Commissioner Steve Taylor, who has watched the trend spread to some 320 schools in New England. ”Teachers say you can spend the whole lunch period just walking around and opening those containers.”

‘Kill Me First’ Dress Code

12.28.2004

Listening to The Radio Factor this morning on the way to a job, Michelle Malkin (whom I love) was on and they were talkin about the (FAM) Federal Air Marshal’s “Dress Code” and all of the extremely brilliant rules behind it.

The whole idea behind the FAM is that they work undercover. But the bureaucrats (our friends devoted to the details of administrative procedure) think that they should all be sporting some slick ‘uniforms’ if you will.

As quoted from The Ledger:

“I don’t think anyone expects al-Qaida to come aboard wearing long robes and burkas. “If the terrorists understand the need to blend in, why doesn’t the director of the Federal Air Marshal Service?”

Now, if yer gonna make the FAM’s look conspicuous, you should give em a tougher look. Because the ‘man in black’ look isn’t as intimidating as…. say…. maybe Mad Max.

And if I were in charge of all that bureaucratic BS, I would issue each passanger a .357 Magnum for the flight. Then when they got to their destination quite safely, they would turn it it to be issued to the next passanger flying with that airline. Course that would only work in ‘my perfect world’, but it falls back on this saying:

“An armed society is a polite society.”

Fat Slob Alert

12.28.2004

Fat Slob The pharmaceutical industry has been issuing alerts to it’s employee’s to beware of a fat scruffy lookin’ slob with a video camera. He has been seen hangin around the taco stands of Las Angeles, consuming monumental amounts of greasy fried foods and spouting communist propaganda.

“We ran a story in our online newspaper saying Moore is embarking on a documentary and if you see a scruffy guy in a baseball cap, you’ll know who it is,” said Stephen Lederer, a spokesman for Pfizer Global Research and Development.

Quotations are my own.

Right To Privacy

12.27.2004

Some of you might have heard about a case recently where a kid was guilty of somethin, cos the mother of the victim overheard a phone conversation that proved the kid guilty. Well the stupid court threw the guilty charge out, because, supposedly, that kid had ‘a right to privacy’ in a phone conversation with the victim.

“Bottom line is, they have no freakin’ right to privacy”

I don’t exactly remember the details of the case, and right now I’m too lazy to search for it. But one thing came to mind when hearing about it. What a load of buffalo puckey. Who in their right mind thinks that a stupid punk teenager has a right to privacy from their own parents when a criminal investigation is in process. I mean, I understand the unwritten rules of privacy, for example, you wouldent want yer mom diggin’ thru yer underwear drawer etc. But in a court of law??? And the guilty punk just got off scott free???

These stupid kids don’t pay bills, don’t provide clothing and shelter for themselves. They don’t vote, they don’t serve in the military, bottom line is they have no freakin’ right to privacy.

So what we have here is the federal government telling you what you can and cannot do to/with your own children. Time to pull out the chainsaw and do some major cutbacks on government size. I think it’s gettin a wee bit too big fer its britches.

Speaking of privacy, there’s been alot of talk about puttin some kinda fancy GPS chips on folks nowadays to keep tabs on them. And I would agree that it could come in very handy on knowing where yer kids are, or to have em on soldiers over in the sandbox.

I mean, if a kid or a soldier was to be abducted, we would know exactly where to find em. Only thing is, when you want that chip out, you gotta be able to get er outta there. If I had the option, I woulden’t mind throwin em inside my offspring (someday when I get em) and when they turn 18 can have em takin out. That would be neat, and probably a load off my mind.

And if these dirty terrorists dogs knew that our soldiers where chipped, they woulden’t even attempt to kidnapp em.

Of course there’s always the threat and possibilty that these chips could fall into the wrong hands. So there would definetly need to be checks and balances for this. But it is something that could very well be a standard issue in the near future. I’m sure there’s plenty of Pro’s and Con’s to them.

12.22.2004

Meet Knights Ardament’s private machine gun collection, to my understanding it is the 3rd largest collection of privately owned firearms and world’s largest collection of privately owned registered machine guns and I wonder why they sell scope mounts for 400 bucks.

If I could have just 1 of these guns id be happy. :D
