Taliban Death by .50 Cal
07.27.05This probably won’t be up long, cos the hosts usually remove this kinda content. But you get to see some taliban getting shot from extremely long distances with a .50 Cal by US Snipers.
You’ll get to see the bodies being thrown a good 30-40 yards from where they were when they were shot. Awesome!
Update » Yea… we know it’s not taliban being shot by US snipers.

The second to last guys looks like he could use a hand. And arm.
# July 27th, 2005 at 6:03 pmHi bro.
Yeah, awesome! I wanna see one of those beasts blow osama’s butt.
You mean a Barret .50 M107 for example? Those beasts have explosive ammo or what???
Regardz.

That’s the actual address if you want to save the movie as a file.
toxique, I know that incendiary-tipped armor piercing rounds are used, but mostly against vehicles/material. That’s not to say a simple FMJ .50 BMG would be any less devastating to a person.
# July 27th, 2005 at 9:23 pmoh, did you not see the link to the movie, toxique?
Lemme fix it.
# July 27th, 2005 at 9:40 pmHOLY CRAP!!!
# July 27th, 2005 at 9:50 pmDude… your ISP removes your content?
# July 28th, 2005 at 1:27 amYou need a new provider.
haha! No, it’s not my host. It’s the freebie host, http://www.putfile.com. I usually host bigger movie files on there, so as to not waste my bandwidth.
# July 28th, 2005 at 6:46 amI didn’t see a PERSON in any of the shots … but that was DEFINITELY an arm flying through the air!
Holy fack!
# July 28th, 2005 at 11:33 amActually, this video is of Varmint hunting. Taliban or humans don’t fly like that getting hit by .50BMG
# July 28th, 2005 at 1:13 pmI got some video of me and some pals shooting a .50 BMG. If ya want it.
Love the bodies in the air. NICE TOUCH
# July 28th, 2005 at 2:22 pmKrunk, actually that would make sense—anything powerful enough to send a human flying back 20 feet would also send the shooter flying back 20 feet (physics: every action has an equal and opposite reaction). People don’t fly back through the air when shot like they show us in the movies, it’s a myth.
But dang, that looked like an arm! I’m just gonna pretend it was an arm, it’s more fun than thinking it was a bunny wabbit.
# July 29th, 2005 at 6:16 amThat’s why i was asking for the explossive ammo.
i have seen recently “Mythbusters” guys demystifying that very mith. Well, it was a smaller caliber (5.56 among others)
Even the .50 ammo with its bigger mass acquires such a huge kinetic energy, wont ever make body parts fly away?
Anyway it is awesome.
# July 29th, 2005 at 7:43 amWell it’s clearly varmint shooting, another interesting about shooting humans is the fact despite being frail compaired to other animals in nature. We can take alot of lead.
Do alot of studies regarding bullet physics. We aren’t exactly the easiest creatures to put down.
# July 29th, 2005 at 9:50 amKrunk, That looked like turban remants flying through the air, not bodies. Head shots.
# July 29th, 2005 at 7:33 pmJust kidding Krunk, that shht is varmit.
# July 29th, 2005 at 7:35 pmWoo-hoo! That rocks! Watch for a trackback …
# July 30th, 2005 at 3:25 pm[...] htwingnation.com/trackback/ Very cool, and many thanks to Pass the Ammo! See the US soldier? See his .50 Cal? See the Taliban blow up! [...]
# July 30th, 2005 at 3:29 pmThat’s me from my newest varmint hunting video (Varmint Safari II) shooting rock chucks with my 6AI loaded with 75 Vmax.
# September 4th, 2005 at 6:51 amI agree with DAA, looks like chucks to me. I wish they were Taliban dudes.
# November 23rd, 2005 at 12:46 amA FMJ .50 call round will blow a person up like that, it’s called hydrostatic shock, since the human body is mainly comprised of water when a bullet hits it going over 2107 fps it’s creates a ripple that travels through the body completely devastateing it, if not for hydrostatic shock .270 and 7mm mags would not be as popular hunting calibers as the are comparitivly small as oposed to the the old .45 -70 rifles. the problem with the 5.56mm nato or .223 what M16’s shoot is that they are tiny bullets they are .22 caliber the same as the one you use to shoot squirrels and typically have a bullet weight of 55 grains travling 3200 fps which come to to a little over 1000 ft lbs of energy, whearas the 50 is actually half an inch in diameter and can weigh up to 800 grains traveling 2700fps this come to a whoping over 10,000 ft lbs of energy just waiting for a human target to absorb it… now you know
# February 3rd, 2006 at 12:24 pmfirst off the shooter doesent fly back because he is shooting a 20 pound gun at min. that kickes the crap out of him and second varmits that are shot that blow up are shot with .22 to .25 cal moving very fast ( not explosive) so the half an inch bullet ripping through the human body sends a tremendious ripple effect through the body and throws off appendages and basically explodes the human body. they are not explosive either by the way FMJ.
# February 3rd, 2006 at 12:36 pmDude you all are crazy! physics plays a big part in everything in the world except the recoil of the m107 long range anti-material rifle. i saw a show the other night on the discovery channel after mythbusters, the ex navy seal show where they show future weapons of the military. The m 107 was the first weapon up the guy shot 10 rounds of 50 cal. greatness in under 10 seconds. from this show i learned how it was made there’s like 4 or 5 springs I mean big springs around the barrel to absorb the energy from firing this monster, they call overkill. I hear the U.S. Military likes overkill, atleast they have accepted the weapon into use. And when your in the buisness of killing, there is no such thing as overkill.
# April 30th, 2006 at 12:23 pmA regular .50 cal bullet would not tear a body apart like that or send its remainings to orbit. But there are .50 cal bullets that explode upon impact. -What they does to a human torso… only god knows:mrgreen:
# May 23rd, 2006 at 1:02 amthats varmin hunting its been posted, its been looked at with differnt computers, other web sites have posted the same exact footage, we are all inthe same boat wishing it was a human talibitch but in reality its parrie dog. the enviroment in afgan and iraq is much differnt, plus a scout sniper would never expose a camera on a rugged hill side like that if thier were actually taliban snipers in those hills you would bet they would have been shot at. and a professional would be very discret about sharing that video if it were rea,l not many of the US forces record themselves killing poop cuz half the ppl that come backhave problems long after thier time on tour, they’ve seen is messed up poop and regardless or not they dont even like to talk bout it and if youare in the forces and would do this shame on you —- ahahahha be a shamed
# May 24th, 2006 at 9:48 pmand when talking about hydrostatic shock that is when i man unprepared b4 being killed is hit with a round, sending pressure wave that displace water in the body if iwere to shot you in the head your skull would shatter into a hundreds of pieces if i were put a bullet in your stomach liver it would cause a hydrostatic shock that would suddenly kill you because of your unawarness of what happened. also geneva convention would have been pissed off and wrote a letter to the US saying how angry they were about a person Human no matter what was shot with a .50 round and espically if it was an HE bullet
drink it up b1tches
# May 24th, 2006 at 10:00 pm.50 caliber bullets do tear bodies apart. My older brother still has bad memories of trying to pick up the pieces of people hit by both his own Huey-mounted .50 cal, or his friends hit by return fire. I wont attempt to guess about the video in question, but a bullet can do tis to the human body. That’s why shooting humans with anything .50 cal or larger violates the Geneva Convention. Which is pointless becaues the US is the only country that actually tries to follow any of those rules anyway.
# February 24th, 2007 at 2:53 pmFact 1 Justin is correct, except that a 50 cal round used by Army Sniper is travelling at 3300 fps at the muzzle.
# March 9th, 2007 at 9:38 pmFact 2 Justin is correct body parts would fly from energy released, as seen.
Fact 3 All shoulder fired 50 cal rifles have a muzzle brake to propel barrel forward in an attempt to decrease kick (have to, it would rip a mans shoulder off).
Fact 4 I’ve seen human remains hit by high powered weapons, it ain’t pretty.
Fact 5 I’m an engineer and can do the math. Saw the video and since I’d done similiar experiment in college with rifle round and pendular target of known mass, I ran the numbers and what your seeing is valid.
haha. thanks for the numbers crunch on that one, leeroy jenkins.
