My Partners Buck
10.25.05Well, my hunting partner took a 2×3 muley yesterday morning. So his freezer is no longer empty either. I hardly have enough time to get out in the mornings, cos I work 6 days a week. But I’m hoping to bring one in during the rut, at least.
And the temperature is dropping fast, too. I’m thinkin it’s time to stop shaving now, cos workin outside sure gets cold in the early morning. The wife won’t care for a scruffy face, but she doesn’t work outside, either. ![]()

It’s good to have meat in the freezer. I’ve never had any mule deer, but I’d be willing to bet it’s similar to whitetail. I’ve seen a few scrapes here lately, next couple of weeks the rut will come in full swing. With my luck, Probaly a week before rifle season!!!
How far along is the wife now?? She feeling okay? My wife and I just found out we’re having ANOTHER girl… WHAT HAVE I DONE TO DESERVE THIS??!?!?!!!?!?? Actually, I’m thrilled.
# October 26th, 2005 at 1:37 pmNice. Since we just moved to Pennsylvania from Indiana, I’ve pretty much missed the season. Next year, I guess. I was hoping to find some venison for sale here, but not yet.

# November 4th, 2005 at 3:41 pmYea, mule deer is pretty similar to a whitetail. I believe I heard that they are a bit of a cross of whitetail and blacktail, thus the mule. But I dont know how accurate that is.
The wife is doin’ good. She’s a couple months along now. But she’s doin pretty good.
# November 5th, 2005 at 5:45 pmTomorrow, 11/12 marks the opening day of KY’s modern rifle season, truly the most wonderful time of the year. There’s been a 10 and a 12 pointer spotted on the farm in the last 2 days run’n does, so hopefully I’ll have a big Ol’ Bluegrass buck to show off come Monday. Wish me luck, boys…
