Opening Day!

Today is opening day for deer season! Jonas and I got our deer and elk tags and headed out past Fernan Saddle in the national forest. We drove the canyonero up and parked on the north side of the NF-406 trail. From there we hiked deep into the woods.

We had some activity we were tryin for in the thicket, but we coulden’t get em to come out.

We’re gonna try a closer spot this evening. Hopefully we’ll have better luck.

    Good luck, men. Our Muzzleloader season comes in this Saturday and I’ve got an empty freezer at home!!!

    Haha people who devote their freezers to dead animals are awesome! I wish I had one but my mom doesnt like wild meat and my dad doesnt take me hunting very often.

    Well Quail season just opened here in the PRK so I’m a little distracted from deer, for which I’ve got 20 days left to “spend” my tag.

    Any body kill any deer yet??? Tomorrow’s opening morning here in Kentucky!!! This season is just in for 2 days, though.

    We need an all year round season here in PA. We have so many deer you could get 10 an hour just driving around but Im pretty sure thats illegal.

    Im sayin PA is stupid cause they dont let you hunt them really cause theres so many regulations on them but theres so many deer its too tempting. In my county I cant even hunt with a rifle, I have to use slugs.

    Ah Crud. And I’ve been out almost every other night too. Hiked for 5 miles or so, and didn’t even jump a doe.
