One Day Left

11.30.2005

First off, I just wanna congratulate C.P. on the “Big ol’ Kentucky 9 point” he took, as well as Woods, who got himself a commifornia 8 point. (Where’d you shoot that at anyway? Camp Pendleton?)

I just walked in and kicked all the snow off my boots. Been out since 2, today. All this season, I’ve been chasin’ elk over mountains, pushin through the thick after deer, even road hunted some bear up around Spirit Lake. Tommorrows the last day of modern rifle season, and I’ve got jack squat to show for it.

Fellers have been takin deer left and right, but everytime I get out there, the only sure shots I can get are on private land. It’s a cryin shame.

I’m taking work off tommorrow, and spending the entire day tryin to fill my tag. Wish me luck.

Thanksgiving 2005

11.24.2005

What a great day this is. Makes you think about all the great people, experiences, and possesions that we have.

What am I thankful for? Here’s a few things

  • My beautiful wife - She is my reason for not murdering people in the first degree.
  • My big family - For always being there to support me, and pick me up when I fall.
  • My Country - Where I have the right to shoot to kill, to defend the wellbeing of my family.
  • My Arsenal - Because without it, I’d be stuck throwing rocks like Palistinians.
  • My God - He is the sole reason for my existance.
  • My hound dog, Copper who is currently curled up on the floor by my feet.
  • My Friends - Because who else could I go out drinkin with?
  • My freedom of speech - Because we all love to Praise the Lord, and Pass the Ammo!

Johnny Depp on France

11.23.2005

Johnny Depp’s France Dance

Back in 2003 Johnny Depp said, “America is dumb, it’s like a dumb puppy that has big teeth that can bite and hurt you, aggressive.”

Depp also said that he’d like his kids to see “America as a toy, a broken toy. Investigate it a little, check it out, get this feeling and then get out.”

A short while ago the actor left the U.S. for a tranquil life in France.

What a difference some youthful jihad in the streets makes.

A recent headline on the Contact Music Web site read: “Depp: ‘I can’t stay in riot ravaged France.’”

Depp described the riots in France as “insane,” stating that “setting cars on fire is the new strike.”

“I went there [to France] to live because it seemed so simple. Now it’s anything but. I don’t know how they’ll recover from this.”

The Left Coast Report says it’s a shame that it takes terrorism in the streets for Depp to realize what “seemed so simple” isn’t.

We really should ban these morons from coming back.

Politics Explained

11.21.2005

FEUDALISM: You have two cows. Your lord takes some of the milk.

PURE SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and puts them in a barn with everyone else’s cows. You have to take care of all of the cows. The government gives you as much milk as you need.

BUREAUCRATIC SOCIALISM: You have two cows. The government takes them and put them in a barn with everyone else’s cows. They are cared for by ex-chicken farmers. You have to take care of the chickens the government took from the chicken farmers. The government gives you as much milk and eggs as the regulations say you need.

FASCISM: You have two cows. The government takes both, hires you to take care of them and sells you the milk.

PURE COMMUNISM: You have two cows. Your neighbors help you take care of them, and you all share the milk.

RUSSIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. You have to take care of them, but the government takes all the milk.

CAMBODIAN COMMUNISM: You have two cows. The government takes both of them and shoots you.

DICTATORSHIP: You have two cows. The government takes both and drafts you.

PURE DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. Your neighbors decide who gets the milk.

REPRESENTATIVE DEMOCRACY: You have two cows. Your neighbors pick someone to tell you who gets the milk.

BUREAUCRACY: You have two cows. At first the government regulates what you can feed them and when you can milk them. Then it pays you not to milk them. Then it takes both, shoots one, milks the other and pours the milk down the drain. Then it requires you to fill out forms accounting for the missing cows.

PURE ANARCHY: You have two cows. Either you sell the milk at a fair price or your neighbors try to take the cows and kill you.

LIBERTARIAN/ANARCHO-CAPITALISM: You have two cows. You sell one and buy a bull.

SURREALISM: You have two giraffes. The government requires you to take harmonica lessons.

Got Gunner Palace?

11.20.2005

So my copy of Gunner Palace just got in on friday night. The wife was workin, and some buddies were over. So we threw back a few and had a good time watching.

Wilf was by far the hilight of the documentary. We’d be laughing and talkin, but when Wilf came on, it was everyone at attention!

And for those who have it already, you cannot deny the deleted scene of Wilf and his World Book 2004 to be the funniest.

“And for one dollar, I can buy 15,000 dongs”

So you folks who are curious as to what the daily life is like for a soldier in Baghdad, order your copy now. A portion supports military familes.

Paristine

11.13.2005

With a nod to Joseph Farah at World Net Daily

Jacques and his frères are surely weeping
Les pauvres immigrès have caught them sleeping,
Paysans revolt, their emotions churning,
What’s that odeur? Is Paris burning?
Within the banlieues there’s no joy
Among les jeunes who are sans emplois
What, take a job? Not the way to go;
We’d rather riot, torch your Peugeot.

Ah, Mother France you took us in,
Then left us with no way to win.
We’re not ègal, not garçons blanc,
We’ve no real chance to earn a franc.
No, what we are, we’re useful fools,
For leftist dreams, just brown-skinned tools.
So the Rèpublique’s butt is in a crack,
Give your merci to Jacques Chirac.

We’ll breed you into minority,
Till only mullahs hear your plea,
And Shari’a rules throughout your land,
A Frenchman steals, he’ll lose his hand.
Your licentious lifestyle, long extolled,
Will leave your women stoned, dead cold.
But everything will turn out fine,
In the Muslim Republic of Paristine.

French Riots

11.12.2005

You gotta read this.

News Flash America

Murderous Muslim Takeover, coming to a town near you!

It seems that in USA, people are misinformed about the spread of the riots. let me give you a piece of enlightenment about them.

Muslim riots happened in areas mostly populated by Muslim immigrants (up to 80%).
The riots were contained in those areas by a police which were conscious of not committing any flaw that was expected by the Mollas to upsurge all the Muslim people. Continue Reading »

Iraq Weapons Report

11.12.2005

Curious what the troops think of their equipment, weapons, tactics and other misc info? This is definetly a post for “fellow gunners, military buffs, veterans and interested guys.”

Here is the entire letter.

This was forwarded to me by a friend who is a former member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, so I am certain it is authentic. I think your readers may find it as fascinating as I did, from beginning to end.

Subject: Iraq Weapons Report

Hello to all my fellow gunners, military buffs, veterans and interested guys. A couple of weekends ago I got to spend time with my son [excised], who was on his first leave since returning from Iraq. He is well (a little thin), and already bored. He will be returning to Iraq for a second tour in early 06 and has already re-enlisted early for 4 more years. He loves the Marine Corps and is actually looking forward to returning to Iraq.

[excised] spent 7 months at Camp Blue Diamond in Ramadi. Aka: Fort Apache. He saw and did a lot and the following is what he told me about weapons, equipment, tactics and other miscellaneous info which may be of interest to you. Nothing is by any means classified. No politics here, just a Marine with a birds eye views opinions:

1) The M-16 rifle : Thumbs down. Chronic jamming problems with the talcum powder like sand over there. The sand is everywhere. [excised] says you feel filthy 2 minutes after coming out of the shower. The M-4 carbine version is more popular because its lighter and shorter, but it has jamming problems also. They like the ability to mount the various optical gunsights and weapons lights on the picattiny rails, but the weapon itself is not great in a desert environment. They all hate the 5.56mm (.223) round. Poor penetration on the cinderblock structure common over there and even torso hits cant be reliably counted on to put the enemy down. Fun fact: Random autopsies on dead insurgents shows a high level of opiate use.

2) The M249 SAW (squad assault weapon): .223 cal. Drum fed light machine gun. Big thumbs down. Universally considered a piece of shit. Chronic jamming problems, most of which require partial disassembly. (not fun in the middle of a firefight).

3) The M9 Beretta 9mm: Mixed bag. Good gun, performs well in desert environment; but they all hate the 9mm cartridge. The use of handguns for self-defense is actually fairly common. Same old story on the 9mm: Bad guys hit multiple times and still in the fight.

4) Mossberg 12ga. Military shotgun: Works well, used frequently for clearing houses to good effect.

WMD’s in Iraq

11.12.2005

Just to kick a dead horse… I was sent this article.

Contrary to ongoing reports by mainstream media outlets, WMDs have been found in Iraq, so reports New York Times best-selling author Richard Miniter in his new book, Disinformation.

Consider these shocking facts:

• Found: 1.77 metric tons of enriched uranium

• Found: 1,500 gallons of chemical weapons

• Found: Roadside bomb loaded with sarin gas

• Found: 1,000 radioactive materials–ideal for radioactive dirty bombs

• Found: 17 chemical warheads–some containing cyclosarin, a nerve agent five times more powerful than sarin

This is only a partial list of the deadly weapons Miniter reveals in his new book, Disinformation. Miniter systematically dissects the “No-WMD Myth” (how it started, and why it continues), as well as 21 other War-on-Terror myths perpetuated by the media.

Looks like an interesting book. I woulden’t mind pickin up a copy.

Pistol-Packing Grandmother Shoots Intruder

11.10.2005

ARLINGTON, Texas — A woman found evidence on her porch that someone might have broken into her house when she let her dogs out for a walk early Wednesday morning. The woman’s granddaughter also said she heard noises from inside the house.

Susan Gaylord Buxton, 66, retrieved her .38 caliber handgun and searched her house. She found a man hiding in a closet, covered by a coat.

The man, 22-year-old Christopher Lessner, lunged for the gun, and, police said, Buxton shot him once in the leg. She fired a second shot, which missed, according to police. Read Full Story »

She’s lucky to be alive, most likely. She shoulda unloaded on him.

Thanks for the link, Scott.

Support Valour-IT

11.06.2005

For those of you who do not know what Valour-IT is, it began a few months ago when milblogger TCOverride was injured by an IED. With the partial loss of some of his fingers, Cpt Chuck wanted to write home but didn’t have the means or ability too. That was when Soldiers Angels stepped in and gave him a laptop, and a faithful reader gave him a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred Software. Now Cpt Chuck was able to easily type letters to home from the Walter Reed Hospital.

From there Project Valour-IT was born.

Now there is a fund raiser drive going on. Many of the major milbloggers have banded together to raise more money for Valour-IT and seeing who can raise the most! Heres where we can do our part as patriots and donate money to make easier the lives of those who put theirs on the line.

The Fund Raising Competition is divided up by branches in the military. Below is the booster for Team Army who I’m supporting.

To view the other boosters, and to see what other bloggers are supporting this fund raiser, stop by Soldiers Angels.
