Excellent post. It's always good to read what's really going on over in the hadgee hellhole. You won't read that stuff in the New York Times or USA Today.

Yeah, the 5.56 isn't worth crap. If you can't hunt big game with it, how come the gvt. is making our guys hunt people with it.???!!! I say give 'em 7.62 NATO AT LEAST. An AR in 300win. mag. would really hit the ticket.  Also, If it can't work while submerged in flour it shouldn't be issued.

Give 'em .45 or .50 cal. handguns with hi-cap mags too.

Sometimes I think the government doesn't actually want us KILLING them, just maming them enough to take them out of the fight for a few days. Grrr! Woof!

There's my two cents.

Almost forgot, I'd take a .45 1911 over a 9mm M9 anyday, BUT I'd sure love a 1911 in .50 GI!

Very interesting read, I cannot understand why they can't get it right with a 7.62 NATO version of the M(AR)-180, damn thing works as well as an AK in sand/mud/water and has the weight, accuracy and modular abilities of the M-16.

Failing that what about a M(AR)-10?

I don't know if any of you have experienced the "sand" in the sandbox BUT it ain't yo' Mothers sand... it is exactly like flour... it gets everywhere, you need a lubrication free firearm that doesn't need cleaning or takedown in-field where possible.
