The Marlboro Man

The Marlboro Man

Some of you may remember this photo when it first came out. Here’s some info on the soldier. It’s about post traumatic stress disorder, and the true burden that a soldier in action carry’s. Well worth the read.

The photograph hit the world on Nov. 10, 2004: a close-cropped shot of a U.S. Marine in Iraq, his face smeared with blood and dirt, a cigarette dangling from his lips, smoke curling across weary eyes.

It was an instant icon, with Dan Rather calling it “the best war photograph in recent years.” About 100 newspapers ran the photo, dubbing the anonymous warrior the “Marlboro Man.”

The man in the photograph is James Blake Miller, now 21, and he is an icon, although in ways Rather probably never imagined.

He’s quieter now — easier to anger. He turns to fight at the sound of a backfire, can’t look at fireworks without thinking of fire raining down on a city. He has trouble sleeping, and when he does, his fingers twitch on invisible triggers.

The diagnosis: post-traumatic stress disorder.

Frogmans Back

01.29.2006

Incase some of you don’t follow the dissident frogman, he’s back in action! With his plans for a full on winter offensive, he’s redesigning his site with new software, and should be back up and fighting soon.

The best part. He’s gettin himself an NRA Membership. Which is what all of you should already have. C’mon, if a frenchman has an NRA membership before any of you…. we are all ingrates!

Pull Out!

01.28.2006

A friend sent me this. Some of you may have seen it already.

If you consider that there have been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq theater of operations during the last 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000.

The rate in Washington D.C. is 80.6 per 100,000.

That means that you are about 25% more likely to be shot and killed in our Nation’s Capitol, which has the strictest gun control laws in the nation, than you are in Iraq.

Conclusion: We should immediately pull out of Washington DC!

Farragut Park Range

01.26.2006

If there are any locals reading this, please consider sending a letter of support for the Farragut Park Shooting Range expansion project. Just received this letter from a supporter. It has a summary of the situation.

Farragut State park is on the south end of Lake Pend Oreille near Athol Idaho, a short distance north of Cour d’Alene. It was originally build as a Naval Training Station during World War II. They have a 1000 yard range at the park that was originally developed during the Naval Station days (I assume). The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has a plan to improve the range and make it usable for a wide variety of shooting sports. The Range developement plan outlined below explains that they want to partition the original range into several ranges. This will allow the range to be used for Highpower Competition simultaneously with shorter range events, and keep a plinking range open for the public too.

Apparently there is a small special interest group that is trying to stop the range inprovement and shut the range down for all shooting.

I wrote an e-mail to David Leptich, the manager of the project for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and asked for particulars about the range improvement plan. His response is what you will see below this message.

I would encourage you all to send an e-mail to Mr. Leptich expressing your support for their improvement project and keeping the range open. There are so very few full range ( 600 to 1000 yard ranges) available to us in the Northwest that we need to fight to keep all of them that are available. Hopefully they will get a group together to host some highpower matches there after the range improvment project is complete.

We need to think about it. Spokane is the closest 600 yard range that we have, and they do a great job of hosting matches.

But, remember, that there is a bicycly/pedestrian path 60 feet above the target pits at the Spokane Rifle Club. If something ever goes wrong at that range, WE ARE SCREWED (sorry ladies). Having a fully functional full distance range just a few miles into Idaho with attendant camping and recreational facilities for the non-shooters in the family might be our salvation.

In addtion, if they keep 15 firing points for a 600 year range, they would be able to host Black Power Cartridge Rifle matches, Silhouette Matches and more.

Please consider sending an e-mail in support of the improvements that are proposed by the Idaho Departmetn of Fish and Game. We should have as much support for range projects from the Washington Department of Fish and Game!

You can address a letter of support to David Leptich at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. His e-mail is dleptich@idfg.idaho.gov.

Thank you.

Ray Nagin: Rascist Mayor

01.19.2006

NEW ORLEANS — Mayor Ray Nagin told a crowd gathered at City Hall for a Martin Luther King Day march that New Orleans will be “chocolate” again.

“We ask black people … It’s time for us to come together. It’s time for us to rebuild New Orleans _ the one that should be a chocolate New Orleans,” Nagin said Monday. “This city will be a majority African American city. It’s the way God wants it to be. You can’t have New Orleans no other way. It wouldn’t be New Orleans.”

The city was more than 60 percent black before Hurricane Katrina displaced about three-quarters of its population, but spared several predominantly white neighborhoods.

This mayor is as rascist as a klan member. There is no way that a “honky” could get up and say that his town needs to “stay vanilla, cos its the way God wants it to be.” This guy needs to be kicked out. Its pathetic he is even in there.

When he appolagized he said “I was refering to the black culture”. Which still doesnt count for anything, just like it woulden’t cut a white mayor slack for saying he was refering to “preserving the white culture”.

Bond Arms Texas Defender

01.19.2006

Precision engineered by Bond Arms, a leader in innovative derringer production and design, the Texas Defender truly represents the finest in compact double-barrel protection. Stainless steel construction with a satin polished finish combine with custom laminated rosewood or black ash grips for stunning good looks. A unique interchangeable barrel system lets you conveniently use different barrels on the same frame. Each barrel will fire two different calibers. A spring-loaded cammed locking lever ensures a tight barrel-to-frame fit and quick, convenient loading and unloading. Rebounding hammers join with retracting firing pins and a crossbolt safety for sure, safe reliability.

I think I’d have to go with the Cowboy Defender model in .45 Colt, and a .410 buckshot. I’m real partial to the star in the grip, here’s a lower quality graphic. I dunno why their website designer made all the images in .gif. But imagine having this thing engraved. Lookin’ pretty sweet.

Feedback: A Highly Educated Professor

01.11.2006

It’s not everyday, that a professor of higher learning from the most powerful country in the world (Wales, UK) graces my website with not only a visit… but with actual feedback. I have memorized every word, so that I may better myself from his intellect and education.

It seems to me, after a quick perusal at your website, that although the website is well laid out and professional, your views are quite sickening. Haven’t you heard of the sanctity of life? Is that a picture of you in the cheque shirt? Have you had any education? I doubt it. I realise that you have made an admirable decision to show the world some of your thoughts on your website, which I have yet to do. In the 21cent. No person, Americans or others, should lose their life through a ruling class or government telling them to kill people they have never met for that governments economic or military’s own gain. Your obsession with guns is worrying. Their are many excellent computer games around where you can kill things without it being real. Why don’t you try one?

Regards, Proff. Chris Wison, W. London.

Time to go to school, folks. Let us get all scientifical and disect this nugget of wisdom that we have been given by the gracious professor.

It seems to me, after a quick perusal at your website, that although the website is well laid out and professional, your views are quite sickening.

Ah, the classic “You’re wrong, I’m right” approach. In his experience and education, he knows that he is always right, and everyone else is always wrong. There is no real scientific proof for this, but alot of people seem to buy it as proven fact, much like evolution. Thus making this argument null. Moving on.

Haven’t you heard of the sanctity of life? Is that a picture of you in the cheque shirt? Have you had any education? I doubt it.

Here we see he pulls the sanctity of life card out. Also an excellent strategic manuevre. Although at first it appears a very legitimate question, if one would only look closer by taking two hands and scraping away the horse sh*t, can they see the true question. “Haven’t you heard of the sanctity of a terrorists’ life?”

You see? It is actually a bass-ackwards question! He probably has a buddy or two in Al Quida! Yer lucky our federal agents can’t reach you over there.

And following up on this organ we’ve disected, he questions my education. This is hurtful on so many levels, and I’m sure he can understand why. If you’ll refer back to the first segment, only the well trained eye will see that he says my website is ‘well laid out’ and ‘professional’. And we all know that only a highly educated person, such as yours truely, could ever conjur up such a beautiful thing as Pass The Ammo.

I realise that you have made an admirable decision to show the world some of your thoughts on your website, which I have yet to do.

Now he mixes things up on us, so that we’ll lower our guard. Look closely and you will see a well placed compliment amongst the smack talk. He says that I have made an admirable decision. He admires me. I’m so excited. He even wants to start his own blog. Now, here is where I offer to build him a website in return for his almighty “Euro-Dollar”.

No person, Americans or others, should lose their life through a ruling class or government telling them to kill people they have never met for that governments economic or military’s own gain.

He is absoultely correct on this one. And I believe that we all should all meet, and get to know our enemies before killing them for trying to kill us. The logic behind the professors words is as a frying pan to my face. Why can’t common sense be this common anymore? I think we should stud this professor out, across the continent of Africa, so as to spread his seed of wisdom and understanding to the disease ridden country.

Your obsession with guns is worrying.

Although a little bit too “fatherly” for a stranger to say, he is right in this segment as well. Guns have been known to save lives countless times daily. And we woulden’t want anyone actually saving themselves from murder/rape etc. Once again, his higher learnings stumps the common man.

Their are many excellent computer games around where you can kill things without it being real. Why don’t you try one?

And with a swift manuvre, he tosses all seriousness aside, and enjoys a good joke that we can all laugh along with. That is the kind of educator I like. One who’s not afraid to socialize and have a good time with the simpletons of the internets. Thank you professor Chris Wison. Your words will not be soon forgotten.
