Cheney’s Hunting Accident
02.20.06There’s a reason why I didn’t post about this event. And the answer is because nobody cares.
Hunting accidents happen all over the country. You don’t see those pasted all over the front pages. Accidents happen. Car accidents, boat accidents, nail gun accidents, flight of stairs accidents. If you can’t understand this, then you lack what is known as “common sense”.
So to all you gun grabbing liberal morons, who use this accident as reason to remove all guns from law abiding citizens… I say kick rocks.
Just cos one bad thing happens with a very useful tool, doesn’t mean you should completely cut it out of society. This goes for vehicles, construction tools, hunting tools, etc. If your shallow mind cannot grasp this idea, then you are a very useless tool that really should be cut out of society.
And to lighten things up, my buddy Scott was kind enough to send this my way.

That’s funny. But you all need to check out First Blood.
# February 20th, 2006 at 3:05 pmheh. i totally agree with you on this one. all of the dumbass liberal kids at school were salavating over this thing, as if it proved something about the Bush administration. idiots.
# February 20th, 2006 at 3:32 pmSometimes I feel that you should retain your membership in that club Ive mentioned before, but then you just prove me wrong again. Thank you for not being one of those stupid liberal kids, you might be turning into the second version of Guav.
# February 20th, 2006 at 6:27 pmSo many important newsworthy events happened around and during the Vice President’s hunting trip, yet all we heard about was “gun control” and hear/see the MSM spew their venom over the VP telling a local paper about the incident instead of immediately calling the NYT or ABC.
# February 21st, 2006 at 7:41 amI know. Why didn’t we hear much about Gore heading to Saudi Arabia on their dime, and bad mouthing American AND our president??? How’s that good for America???
These leftist dogs don’t deserve the freedom they fight against.
# February 21st, 2006 at 7:46 amChad, I admit that with my last comment I intended to provoke you a little bit. I’m surprised on how it didn’t turned how I thought it was going to. Congratulations, you’ve earned my respect.
Don’t get me wrong, I still don’t agree with you. But I admit you can have some good arguments.
Let’s clarify things: I’m not against hunting weapons and I agree that those kind of accident can happen. I just think that this is a good example on why weapons should not be carried somewhere else that at the shooting range or in the forest and why otomatic (I replaced the “au” by “o” because of your word filter) weapons dosen’t deserve to be owned by everybody.
# February 21st, 2006 at 7:47 amI’ll agree with you PM, that not everybody is qualified to carry semi-auto, or full auto weapons. Thats why theres a criminal background check by the BATFE.
# February 21st, 2006 at 7:52 amI woudl rather go hunting with Dick Cheney then for a car ride with Ted Kenedy
# February 21st, 2006 at 10:30 am:shock:nice post chad…..u were definitley raging in that one. I could feel the emotion:cry:
# February 21st, 2006 at 1:55 pmIt was more of a calm,collected assertion, actually.
# February 21st, 2006 at 2:35 pmMy guns have killed less people than Ted Kennedy’s car (seen on bumper sticker which I must find somehow)
# February 22nd, 2006 at 8:10 amYou can find it at most gun shows
# February 22nd, 2006 at 12:09 pmThis is sort of a non-sequitor, but one of the quotes you have in the margin next to the articles - “If guns cause crime, then pencils cause misspelled words” - is a really bad analogy.
# February 22nd, 2006 at 5:21 pmalthough it is really snappy.
# February 22nd, 2006 at 5:21 pmIf guns cause crime spoons cause Michael Moore to be fat.
# February 22nd, 2006 at 6:05 pmheh.
# February 22nd, 2006 at 6:52 pmCare to explain in your words, why it is a bad analogy?
# February 22nd, 2006 at 7:07 pmI found this. So true.
# February 22nd, 2006 at 10:00 pmYou may know that I will never (or almost never) agree with you guys on this blog, except for that : If guns cause crime, spoons cause Michael Moore to be fat.
# February 23rd, 2006 at 5:54 amHey Chad…that’s funny that you ran across that pic of the “I’d rather hunt with Dick Cheney” next to the Browning symbol.
That’s my buddy’s Trailblazer, and I took the pic (we’re in MI). I emailed it to a few people and somehow it wound up there. Small world.
# February 23rd, 2006 at 9:11 amAw, c’mon PM. You know our logic is undeniable.
# February 23rd, 2006 at 3:38 pmI like the Michael Moore one, but the pencils one is erroneous because misspelled words, in this context, are accidental, while crime is almost always not.
Gun crimes are the result of somebody intentionally misusing a firearm.
Misspelled words are the result of somebody accidentally misusing a pencil.
It was a minor thing.
Now for something more important:
# February 23rd, 2006 at 4:58 pmWhat about this whole Dubai ports issue. I like how it’s kinda blurred the traditional political lines. All argument about whether a change in ownership poses a security risk aside, I think the most important point is that Dubai Ports World is owned by the government of the UAE, it is not a private company. If DPW was a port-management company that happened to based in the UAE, I would say that they absolutely have the right to buy the port terminal if they can afford it. But having a foreign government control ports all along the eastern seaboard I think poses a security problem. It has nothing to do with the fact that they’re arab, I wouldn’t want the British, French, or any other country’s government, controlling what is already aknowledged to be a weak point in our security system. (Note: The previous company was a privately-owned British firm.)
My head aches thinking about this port crap. I feel like a democrat… confused and unwilling to take a stand on the issue.
# February 23rd, 2006 at 6:26 pmbut, but.
i thought i explained it really nicely
# February 23rd, 2006 at 7:06 pmIf security is controlled by the U.S. Customs, and not the port owner, what does it matter who owns it? It’s no different than Saudi Airlines owning a terminal at a major airport.
Further, I don’t necessarily trust that any given port is safe, even if owned and operated by an American company. Beef up security all around, and then move forward.
# February 24th, 2006 at 4:31 amWell, part of the problem is that port security seems to be the responsibility of a whole lot of different groups, so no one is really in charge… The Onion has a hilarious article about the cheney hunting incident:
