New Theme

06.08.06

Just now.So I’m tryin this new theme on for size. I still gotta add the links to the other pages and such. I can actually switch the color on this to white as well. Some folks might prefer that, but I’m likin this black right now.

This theme only shows two posts on the front page. And with the rate that I’ve been posting lately, it just might work out. If you guys see anything else missing, lemme know. I’m still workin with ideas on this baby.

But this is where you all can have your say about it. Whether or not I’ll agree, I’m listening.

Whoa, I am going to have to get used to this. It’s not as honky as I am used to.

at first i had to regain some senses, wondering if google was playing another game with your site chad.

It’s fine, i see everything from before and the layout is a bit more organized. I feel like im looking at a digital file cabinet.

Could you possibly make the option for a white background something we can do through our own computers? like have on the main page a “switch to white button” or how about a switch to camo!

Good job Chad! Inventive and brillant!

This is gonna take a while to get used to, definently not as honky!

Not as honky but it looks well organized. It doesn’t show off your graphic design ability as well tho.

Al - I’ll start to work on the color switcher.

cs - yea, but I think I’m doin this more for my own interest. Besides, I don’t think this site is really a shining beacon of design, when most people start to reading it.

thats another thing. I’m gonna add the smilies back to this comment box.

I am horrified about one thing, this is a template  . You’re a daddy now so that can slide. You have too much talent to hide it.

  9. Gravatar Chad Says

Haha, nice. It is a template, and it is one that even I don’t have the skill to reproduce. The guy put alot of modified coding into this baby, and I don’t have php coding knowledge. Just design skills here.

But I’m just tryin it out to switch things up here. I was bored, and I recently discovered this theme. I’ve been having fun with it.

Personally, the change has caused me some severe mental trauma and I think I might have a diagnosable DSM IV Adjustment Disorder accompanied by symptoms of PTSD.

I really liked the layout. I’m kinda bored with the whole fixed width, column look. Once you figure out how to navigate the place, you might actually like it.

I recon I could mess around with the coloring, and make it more honky.

JJ - Are you fer serious about that PTS thingum?

  13. Gravatar cs Says

utohh the fixed-width debate has come to PTA.

Although this layout has some merit I’d have to say I prefer the aesthetics and whimsy of the previous incarnation.

Stevil who is an Art Director that knows a thing or two ’bout information design n’ such.

I do agree that this color scheme is against certain rules of good design. and there’s nothing worse than trying to read a site you like, while getting a headache everytime. I’m gonna mess with the color scheme, to give it a more earthy look.

might be a bit though, my time is back to full schedule.

    its gettin’ more honky now.

    so much better ahhhh

  18. Gravatar Chad Says

 yea. The black was a bit too extreme for good ol’ PTA. You guys let me know if anything else needs attention. I’m finding bits and peices as I cruise the site.

  19. Gravatar Stevil Says

Much better, now how about some Emigre typefaces?

  20. Gravatar Chad Says

Don’t get too fancy with this Emigre talk, now ya hear.
