Local Election Results
11.08.06I’m real pleased with the election results for Idaho.
Butch Otter is our new NRA & GOA Endorsed govenor! He beat out Brady the appeaser 52% by 44%. Just about all of our top guys received a A grade on their pro-gun voting records.
Passed the ammendment to only recognize male/female marriages. That was easy. We had to make fun of my buddy’s younger brother. He misunderstood the ballot question and voted for queer marriage. So he’ll never live that one down.
So how did everyone else do?

the senate race in Virginia (webb (d) vs. allen(r)) near where i live was an interesting one. i think Allen has no one but himself to blame for his loss. making racist slurs to an indian cameraman at an election rally (directly into his camera) didnt exactly speak for his judgment. still, Webb seems like a little bit of a wierdo about gender issues, so we couldve done better.

Eeerrmmm..Have you ever been to France? It’s a beautiful country with lovely people and excellent food (not the Quarter Pounder-type mind). The wines are exquisite, the experience of sitting in a corner café drinking a café au lait and eating a freshly baked
croissant, watching the world and his dog walk past on the street outside is a beautiful life experience.
Why do you hate France? Do you hate them for not supporting the Iraq invasion? Do you hate them for doing exactly what you preach to the rest of the world? Freedom of speech, freedom to choose? The right to say: I don’t want to be a part of this! France was not the only nation that opposed the USA. You should respect them for making a difficult and defined decision during a time that was difficult for the entire world. You should respect them for sticking to that decision even when put under immense pressure by other nations. It doesn’t matter wether you agree or not with the choice they made. Respect them for not buckling at the knees and playing ‘follow the leader’ like a few other nations did.
And, I hope to God that I am unpatriotic towards America. I am a citizen of the UK. I was born in England, raised in Germany and now live in Finland (which btw has excellent moose hunting :P). I come from a nation that withstood the Blitz. For 57 consecutive days England was bombed, day and night. 43 000 people lost their lives in that short period of time. Every single night, as the bombes rained down on London, more people were killed than in one WTC attack.
If I, as a Brit, can bring myself to love France, a nation that surrendered to the Nazis, which unltimately brought the Nazis to England’s doorstep. If I can live in peace in Germany together with people who 50 years ago almost destroyed my country and killed members of my familly, then YOU can respect France for sticking to its guns, for fighting for what they believe is right and for not surrendering this time when a stronger nation tries to take that right away from them.
