Pat Dollard

12.30.2006

This is a guy that you all need to know. Pat Dollard is a regular badass, who didn’t use to be. I don’t know about you guys, but I’ve always felt a greater respect for the guys who came over from “the other side” (liberalism) then for the guys who have always been what they are. It takes a lot more guts, and lot more humility.

I think my favorite piece, is the one that made it in Maxim magazine. Here’s how they introduced him.

Pat Dollard traded a life of luxury as a Hollywood agent for that of a war journalist dodging bullets and shrapnel alongside the Marines in Iraq. He did it so you could see the truth…his version of the truth.

His documentary is currently in production. I’m betting it will be the best iraqi war documentary to be seen, hands down. You can see a couple of teasers on his site.

And you need to watch his interview on Hannity and Colmes.

So this is a guy who spent his own money and blood to bring you the truth from the front lines. Here’s something you can do. Donate some money to the “Young Americans” documentary fund. If you donate more than $25, expect to get a sweet shirt from the guys at Jihadkiller.com

Jihad Killers

Help “Young Americans” see the Light of Day. Help us battle the incessant anti-war, anti-administration media message, with the balance America needs from “Young Americans”. Help get out the message to support the war in Iraq and the troops there. Help the Marines who served have their story told. And help the families of the Marines I served with who were killed. I gave it all up, my life and my income, to serve my country in the War in Terror, with the one weapon a 42 year old civilian like me could use: a camera. I’m bleeding my life savings dry, and we all need your help with finishing funds for the project. I may soon have to go back to Ramadi to cover a potential large operation in the city ala Fallujah. It’s a risk, as usual, that I’m willing to take. Any donation you can make towards “Young Americans” will be greatly appreciated, and more importantly, will have a huge impact on America by helping to balance out the non-stop BS liberal message we are all drowning in. All contributors, if requested, will be named in the end title sequence with a shared Associate Producer credit. Please rally around the project, the Marines, and America. A large percentage of the profits from this project will be donated to education and other funds for the families of those Marines I was with who made the ultimate sacrifice. The rest will simply go to funding ongoing operations. See you in Iran!

Saddam assumes room temperature

12.30.2006

So there really is justice in the world… even if it’s a little slow in the coming. Lord knows it woulda been even slower if he had been in the care of bleeding hearts in hollywood.

I was at the Stampede last night, a honky tonk in Temecula California, when they stopped the dancing to announce that Saddam was currently assuming room temperature. The crowd cheered and the DJ put on Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” while everyone removed their hats and pointed at the American flag hanging above the dance floor.

Choosing Victimhood

12.15.2006

“He that suffers his life to be taken from him by one that hath no authority for that purpose, when he might preserve it by defense, incurs the Guilt of self murder since God hath enjoined him to seek the continuance of his life, and Nature itself teaches every creature to defend itself.”

Sermon given in Philadelphia in 1747

I don’t watch too much tv. I have been watching a couple shows more often though. I’ll drop what I’m doing to watch Cops, and Most Shocking. Court TV’s newest show of extreme criminal footage. From high speed police chases, to a couple of punk ass thugs taking a steak knife to a convenience store clerk.

I’ve seen several of these security camera movies, where innocent people get brutalized, and come mighty close to death over a few bucks in their register. It’s hard for me to watch. But I have to, and I want my wife to watch it as well. She needs to see it. Everyone needs to. You all need to know that every day is potentially your last day. Granted that some areas high higher potential than others. But there will always be drug-induced crimes, or a desperate convict with nothing to lose. Will you be a victim or a survivor?

Last nights episode showed a 12 year old girl working the register at her folks bakery. In broad daylight a blood thirsty animal came in with a hammer. She didn’t stand a chance. He walked right up and repeatedly beat her over the head, until blood was everywhere. She pretended to be unconscious at one point, and he left her alone. Then decided to come back for one more clean hit to her head. Then as he went for the register, she was able to crawl to the door and run across the street to her home. By then, the savage was gone with the money, and still on the loose.

This stuff happens. Might not be often where you live. But there’s always a chance. After every gun-point robbery, when they interview the clerk… the clerk always says “I thought I was dead. I thought of the people I loved, and how I would never see them again.”

Choosing to be a victim. That is what our society preaches. Our law enforcement, our leaders, and sometimes our pastors. Why? Why would they teach us a defeatist outlook on our existance? Why would they teach us something that goes against the very fiber of nature? The basic human right to self defense.

Defending Human Life

The bank across the street from my bank was robbed a couple months back. I was talking to the middle aged teller about it. I asked her if this banks employees even carry concealed. Her response: “No. Never. Never have anything that can be taken away and used on you”. I stood there with a blank stare on my face. Just incredulous that she seriously believed what she had just said. I glance over to the young guy at the next teller, hoping for a hint of disagreement in his face. Nothing there either.

Ever since my daughter was born, I really think alot more about what it means to be their dependent. They depend on me for their safety. As they should. But at the same time, I’m not always there to be the defender. My wife is a preschool teacher. What if a deranged parent walked into her school with a firearm. Just like the Amish school, and the Jewish preschool before that… and the countless other times it has happened. I want her to be mentally able to defend herself. And we’ve had talks about this before. Unfortunately, it just might take a life threatening situation before she’ll fully understand. Her response is “I’ll kick em in the groin”. A nice tactic, I’m sure of… but not realistic when this guy weighs in at 250 and has a baseball bat, or shotgun. What can I do to help her understand? I dunno. I guess I just need to teach her to be more comfortable around weapons. Build her confidence with them.

In my state, it is legal to carry concealed anywhere, BUT a school. The one place we would want to be able to defend our children most. We basically send our children into a bad guy sanctuary. Think about it. This law basically says “All law abiding gun owners not allowed”. And what does that say to any bad guy??? Easy target children, with no other firearms around. It blows my mind.

Christians and guns. Thats pretty much a whole nother topic. I’ve heard it, you’ve heard it. “Jesus says to turn the other cheek” etc. True, only in the sense that your neighbor just bad mouthed you in front of everyone. Not true when a drug induced rape/murder spreeing thug just broke into your house at 3am. Self-murder as it was used in the beginning quote that was pulled from a sermon in the 1700’s. In refusing to preserve your own life you become lower than animals. You consider yourself worthless.

I could talk about this all day. Only because it holds so true to common sense. Why is common sense so uncommon these days? Why do gun owners, and gun advocates have to constantly defend a basic human right daily? In our friends and family’s houses, in our capitols and courthouses.

Gun owner or not, I encourage everyone to just fill out this questionnaire. You don’t need to submit it. It’s just for re-enforcing the common sense of a basic human right.

Farragut Park Range Lawsuit

12.02.2006

Attention north Idahoans. Here is a letter from Dave Leptich, Idaho Fish and Game General Manager for the development of the new shooting range at Farragut state park.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will be responding to a law suit regarding current and future use of the Farragut Shooting Range. The suit threatens to close the range on the basis of noise and safety next week. I believe the Idaho Department of Fish and Game has a solid case based on its actions, empirical evidence and expert testimony. It is my view the Department has complied with Idaho State law and taken reasonable steps to address public concerns regarding the range.

I expect the outcome of the trial will be determined as a matter of fact and law through due process and on no other basis. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has approached this case based on the premise that public resource management decisions should be made on the basis of evidence and not emotion. My suggestion to have people show up at the court hearing dressed in support of the range went counter to the Department’s approach to issues of this nature.

Many range supporters have asked me how they can support the range and I appreciate that support. I also understand and appreciate the concerns of local residents who oppose the range. It was inappropriate for me to suggest that supporters wear NRA logo gear, camouflage, or hunter orange at the trial to silently communicate their support of the range. My suggestion was not reviewed or approved by the Department. A formal legal proceeding is not the place for introducing an aspect of support based on emotions. I was wrong to suggest it and I apologize for that misjudgment. I hope that those people who intended to make a show of support by attending the court hearing and through their choice of clothing or other means will refrain from doing so, and let the Justice system work as it is supposed to – relying on the facts and law.

Respectfully

David Leptich

Farragut Park is the only reasonable place to have a range of this size. Lets make it happen.

12 Americans murdered daily, by illegal aliens

WASHINGTON – While the military “quagmire” in Iraq was said to tip the scales of power in the U.S. midterm elections, most Americans have no idea more of their fellow citizens – men, women and children – were murdered this year by illegal aliens than the combined death toll of U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan since those military campaigns began. More…

Do your country a favor. Report Illegal Aliens.

Opposing Concealed Weapons in the Wilderness
a bill recently introduced in Congress that would allow people with concealed-carry permits take weapons into their home state’s national parks. The indefatigably anti-gun New York Times warned that the measure is a step toward “nationalizing the armed paranoia that the National Rifle Association and its cohorts stand for” and “can only endanger the public.” More…

So I can carry in a bar? But not a national forest? Silly liberals.

Move Over, Gun-owner Stereotypes!

The stereotypical image of a burly Bambi-killer that many Iowans may have conjured up in the past when imagining a gun owner has been evolving and blurring over the years.

Now, gun owners include women, children, urbanites, and “just what you see out there” in the community, local business owners and National Rifle Association officials said.

As a result, many gun manufacturers now produce entire lines designed specifically for women and children, said Roger Howe, owner of the Ammo Bearer, 232 Stevens Drive.

Although the majority of his patrons still are male, he said, numerous women are purchasing guns. A 2001 survey conducted by the National Opinion Research Center showed 39.2 percent of men own guns, compared with 10.2 percent of women. More…

Teach your woman about defending herself, her children, and her body. Teach her to use your gun.

Truly lame idea for gun exchange

Oakland’s latest pitch for violence prevention, a gun-exchange program in two of the city’s toughest neighborhoods, would work well as a comedy skit.

This Saturday in Sobrante Park and next week in DeFremery Park, city officials will reward anyone who turns in a gun with two tickets to the Dec. 15 concert by hard-rock band Guns N’ Roses at Oracle Arena.

Offering Guns N’ Roses tickets in the northwest Oakland neighborhood known as “Ghostown” and Sobrante Park on the east side of town is like giving cats free tickets to the dog show.

What’s next, a free pass to Michael Richards stand-up act? There is surely a disconnect between the city’s promotional plan and the marketplace.

“Guns N’ Roses — the band?” asked Mike Magardo, a 34-year-old Oakland resident. “I think that’s a little off the mark. In general, the folks who would show up for a gun exchange in those neighborhoods either don’t know or care who Guns N’ Roses are.” More…

Now don’t get me wrong… I enjoy a good head banging session to some G ‘n’ R on the way out to a job… but these fool “officials” have their cards in the wrong places. And the author of this is still a gun-control tool.
