Boomtown Casino: No Guns At Gunshow
05.01.07This is absolutely ridiculous.
In the April issue of the NRA Magazine, there was an advertisement encouraging dealers to purchase tables for a three-day Gun Show to be held May 11, 12th and 13th, at the Boomtown Casino, in Reno, Nevada.
I contacted the promoter of the event, and purchased two tables for the show, paid for by credit card.
In preparation for the upcoming event, I (and I am sure many other firearms dealers as well) purchased additional firearms inventory to be sold at the Boomtown Casino Gun Show. I invested several thousands of dollars in doing so.
On Wednesday, April 26, 2007, I received an email (attached) from Mr. Bert Guy advising that “In light of the recent unfortunate incident at Virginia Tech”; a “Corporate Decision” had been made not to allow the display or sale of guns at the show.

uh……then what’s the point of the gun show?
# May 1st, 2007 at 8:39 pmim pretty sure it has something to do with the buying and/or selling of guns.
which is why these people are idiots.
# May 1st, 2007 at 8:43 pmidiots
# May 2nd, 2007 at 10:18 ami guess its like going to buy a car at a dealer, but there are no cars for show or sale because a drunk driver caused a fatal accident.
# May 2nd, 2007 at 10:27 amerik - you nailed that one nicely.
# May 2nd, 2007 at 11:06 amHAHAHAHAHA ….Now they’re calling it a “sport and outdoors show.”
It’s almost like something from The Onion.
# May 2nd, 2007 at 11:43 am…or like going to a bar that doesnt serve alcohol because some idiot got drunk…:beer:
# May 3rd, 2007 at 3:14 pmThe drunk driving analogy is perfect; btw, I dont think there’s anyone stupid enough to do something stupid at a gun show, in fact, I think gun shows are just about one of the safest places to be. Lets say someone goes crazy and shoots off a couple rounds because theyre having a bad day. Chances are, the table owners and customers surrounding them are not going to be having a bad day and will have no problem immediately removing said individual from the gene pool.
# May 4th, 2007 at 7:38 pmThe promoter and organiization folded like a lawn chair when 2nd amendment supporters and gun show attendees need to come together to support our belief in the 2nd amendement.
I would have expected more from the promoters of this event.
# May 6th, 2007 at 11:08 amHaha, even I thinks it’s pretty dumb!
# May 14th, 2007 at 8:44 amreminds me of a jay leno headline…
# May 26th, 2007 at 2:29 pmPolice raid gun show and finds weapons?
What idiot Doesn’t allow guns to be displayed at a gunshow. Would would the purpose of it be? If I bought any table space there i WOULD deman a refund .
What gunshow?
# May 26th, 2007 at 10:29 pmwhat the hell does V.t. got to do with the sell of fire arms its like give your son his first gun then telling him he can’t shoot it
