I don’t know if any of you have read The Dissidant Frogmans’ work before. Basically he’s the best Frenchman you’ll ever meet. He’s more American than some people I know.
Anyways, he’s a hoot, and his latest creation has been makin the rounds. Basically, a French News report showed a Iraqi woman holding two unspent cartridges, and how she was claiming that they were just shot at her by coalition forces. So frogman steps in to show the n00bs at the news agency what the difference between bullets and cartridges is.
So I opened up a flickr account for the Friends of NRA committee that I’m on. I’m planning on using a WP plugin to display the albums on the committee website. I decided to search flickr for any other Friends of NRA photos out there, and immediately stumbled upon this guy’s emotional reaction to the shootings at Virgina Tech. Once I read his whiny rant, I couldn’t help myself. I had to respond.
You’ll have to start off by viewing his “excellent” photo of him crying, and his big long rant of sheer stupidity. Then check the first comment by lakecountry.friends.of.nra (me). I actually respond first to the ridiculous comment above mine.
Well… my response was enough to make him cry all over again, and post a photo just for me! I’m so proud.
A illegal immigrant smuggler was just shot dead by a border patrol agent. Is there anyway we can get this same headline in the paper more often?
EL PASO, Texas — A Border Patrol agent shot and killed a suspected smuggler at a fence that separates the U.S. and Mexico after the agent felt threatened by the man, authorities said Thursday. Read More »
Time to admit the ‘gun nuts’ are right By Keith C. Burris

In the aftermath of the Petit family slayings in Cheshire, we all reached for explanations: How do human beings sink this low? How could this tragedy have been prevented? Why?
There are so many nagging questions. They all need to be asked. And maybe some old arguments need to be hashed out again.

Why not a more stringent “three strikes and you’re out” law in this state? Connecticut’s version is so weak that it’s more like “30 strikes and we’ll think about it while you strike again.”
Why not speed up the criminal trial process for repeat violent offenders? Get them off the streets. It’s been proposed many times. Most people agree it should be done. It never happens.
Can’t we better monitor the probation process?
Can’t we do a better job of predicting — figuring out which non-violent criminals are about to turn violent?
Are home alarms really effective?
How about dogs?
But somehow all of these ideas pale before the barbarity of this particular crime.
That is why one old question is worth asking again. It is this: What if the Second Amendment is for real? Is it possible that it should it be revered, just like the First Amendment?
I would just like to take this time to talk about how America imposes it’s will, culture and beliefs on other countries, and how very wrong that is.
Who do we think we are? going into the glorious nations of the middle east and telling them that they shouldn’t be allowed to smoke yer ass for mocking the koran. I mean, I see nothing wrong with this video, from the morally superior high ground that I walk upon. Each to his own, I say. Be sure to write your favorite hollywood celebrity, begging them to take action against this illegal war.
On a side note, this video makes a very good object lesson for us. The people on the ground dying are called sheep. The masked dudes with guns are called wolves. And the American soldiers are the sheepdogs.
Outsourcing can put you out of touch

Turning a blind eye to product quality can be dangerous to your health. In June, the former head of China’s food and drug agency became the ultimate object lesson: Zheng Xiaoyu, who ran the Chinese equivalent of the Food and Drug Administration for seven years, was executed for taking bribes and “dereliction of duty.”
Chinese prosecutors maintained that under his watch a host of people in Panama died from cough medicine laced with toxins of Chinese origin and more than a dozen babies in China perished from milk powder with no nutritional value. His demise is yet another bombshell for global outsourcing.
The risk to Americans doesn’t just come from goods imported here from China. Fifty-six percent of China’s outsourcing came from orders placed by Japanese and Korean firms. Many of these products end up as components or finished goods sold in the states. Read More…
To President George Bush, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Republican Leader John Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell:
We, the people of these United States, rightfully petition our President, on behalf of former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, and their colleague, former Sheriff’s Deputy Guillermo Hernandez, to commute their sentences.
Further, we ask that Congress insist that the DEA prosecute Mexican national Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila on felony drug distribution charges.
Finally, we demand that Congress and the Bush administration secure our borders.
