I never understood why they tell people to stay on the line with them until the cops get there- why, so they can be a sitting duck? Definately can’t rely on the police for protection and anyone that does is braindamaged.
# August 2nd, 2007 at 7:36 am“Williams has been to prison five times since 1977, according to Department of Corrections records, for crimes including cocaine possession, robbery, aggravated battery and grand theft. He was released most recently in August 2005.”
I find myself wondering why we keep letting people like this out of prison…obviously this guy couldn’t handle it.
# August 2nd, 2007 at 8:27 amWell, we let them out because none of his previous crimes carry life sentences, nor should they. Hopefully he’ll be caught and executed now so that he doesn’t have another chance to prey on society.
# August 2nd, 2007 at 9:55 amNot in California- three strikes on the federal level and your in for life. One of the few good things about this state.
# August 2nd, 2007 at 4:55 pmWell still, someone in that many times…seems to me like he isn’t quite getting the point. I understand none of those are life sentence sorta crimes but when someone keeps at it like this guy obviously something is not being done correctly.
# August 3rd, 2007 at 1:29 pmChris,
# August 3rd, 2007 at 1:47 pmI thought it had to be a violent crime to be considered a strike.
Sean,
# August 3rd, 2007 at 4:38 pmI don’t think so. Could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure its any three felonies. Heres the text of the law.
If you just went to the next page attached to that link, all those crimes seem pretty violent to me.
# August 3rd, 2007 at 7:20 pmYa, your right. Most of them are. (Except a few like arson, mayham, etc) I wonder why libs get so up in arms over this saying that there are drug addicts in for life because of the three stikes law and all. Maybe they’ve recently changed it or something. ?
