Boycott: Antigun Citibank

01.12.08

Citibank has made a statement against your constitutional rights, by refusing to process credit card firearm purchases.

Boycott Citibank

Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp. are refusing to process any credit card transactions between federally licensed firearms retailers, distributors and manufacturers — a move which will severely limit available inventory of firearms and ammunition to military, law enforcement and law-abiding Americans.

The first company to be affected by this decision appears to be firearms distributor CDNN Sports Inc.

“We were contacted recently by First Data/Citi Merchant Services by a June Rivera-Mantilla stating that we were terminated and funds were being seized for selling firearms in a non-face-to-face transaction,” said Charlie Crawford, president of CDNN Sports Inc. “Although perfectly legal, we were also informed that no transactions would be processed in the future, even for non-firearms. I find this very frightening.”

To voice your concern to Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp., please call 303-488-8000 or toll-free 800-735-3362.

Can they leagally just stop allowing people to use their cards for purchases?

Yes. When you sign up with them to accept credit cards, you sign a contract stating they can revoke your privilege of accepting cards through their service at any time.

Hi Chad! The frenchy is back again! It’s been a long time …

Since buying firearms is legal, I think it’s a pretty moron decision this company made. Why on hell would they want to reduce their field of potential income?

I just don’t understand this one!

    my friend the frenchy.

well… as is common with a country fighting for it’s freedom, eventually those freedoms are eroded by these types of outfits that make it their duty to limit our freedoms they do not feel we should have.

We must question Citibanks motives. Is it a “feel good” thing or is there some alternate motive. If it is feel good marketing, are they advertising that fact ie “Citibank says no to guns” etc or is their silence deafening. Who are the major shareholders in citibank? makes you wonder.

Not to get all conspiracy theorist on this one, but I wonder what tie this has to today’s Muslim bailout of Citigroup. There really are so few coincidences in life, and these are two big and very interesting pieces of information coming from the same major corporation within days of each other. The odds of them not being connected are infinitesimally small. Thoughts, anyone?
