The two times in my life I have absolutely required assistance from Law Enforcement, they have left me hanging. The first was one night several years ago when we had a prowler at our front door at 3am, and when we refused to open the door he went around back to the slider. Called 911, which goes to the county sheriff. The county sent the call to the city cops, who were busy. They sent it back to the county SD. It was a full 20 minutes and a big ol’ round of who’s on first before someone actually arrived at the scene, although once they did they took quick care of the situation. (Lucky for us he was just drugged out and lost and thought he was at a friend’s house - if he had ill intentions I wouldn’t be writing this today because at the time everyone in the house was unarmed - fixed that situation now.) The second time was when I rearended someone on the freeway at the junction of two very busy LA freeways during rush hour on a dark and rainy night. I called 911, and waited in the middle of eight lanes of freeway traffic for TWO HOURS until someone finally showed up. It’s a miracle I didn’t get hit myself, I was a sitting duck and nearly invisible due to the rain and low light, and not having any flashers or taillights because the wreck jacked up my car so badly.

I’ve met the problem! My cousin demonstrated it for me at a family gathering a while back.

She told me that one day she saw some homeless guy going up on her porch taking her bottles (to return for the deposit money).

So what does she do? Rather than let the poor bum have the bottles…calls 911!! Probably blocking the line some murder victim needed? Probably the cops who should have helped steadyrock were busy clearing some bottle stealing bum off a lady’s porch.
