California Still The Same

12.08.08

Do you know what happened this week back in 1850, 158 years ago?

California became a state.
The State had no electricity.
The State had no money.
Almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.

So basically, it was just like California today; except the women had real breasts and the men didn’t hold hands.

Dude, come on now. You’re stretching this one

No electricity? Then how am I in my office at 530 am posting this?

No Money? California has the 7th largest economy in the world.

Almost everyone spoke Spanish. I doubt ALMOST everyone. and i’m sure they’re are plenty of people that speak spanish in Idaho.

Gunifights in the street? well, I can’t argue that one except that gunfights were different back then, then they are now.

Although I love cali, it definitley is not perfect. But silicone valley is pretty sweet to look at!

Yup, that about sums it up for me. My wife and I were joking today that we should just sell California to Canada and get some sweet cash while we can. You know, before the “big one” hits and they either become an island or sink into the ocean…
