Boycott: Antigun Citibank

01.12.2008

Citibank has made a statement against your constitutional rights, by refusing to process credit card firearm purchases.

Boycott Citibank

Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp. are refusing to process any credit card transactions between federally licensed firearms retailers, distributors and manufacturers — a move which will severely limit available inventory of firearms and ammunition to military, law enforcement and law-abiding Americans.

The first company to be affected by this decision appears to be firearms distributor CDNN Sports Inc.

“We were contacted recently by First Data/Citi Merchant Services by a June Rivera-Mantilla stating that we were terminated and funds were being seized for selling firearms in a non-face-to-face transaction,” said Charlie Crawford, president of CDNN Sports Inc. “Although perfectly legal, we were also informed that no transactions would be processed in the future, even for non-firearms. I find this very frightening.”

To voice your concern to Citi Merchant Services and First Data Corp., please call 303-488-8000 or toll-free 800-735-3362.

Boomtown Casino: No Guns At Gunshow

05.01.2007

This is absolutely ridiculous.

In the April issue of the NRA Magazine, there was an advertisement encouraging dealers to purchase tables for a three-day Gun Show to be held May 11, 12th and 13th, at the Boomtown Casino, in Reno, Nevada.

I contacted the promoter of the event, and purchased two tables for the show, paid for by credit card.

In preparation for the upcoming event, I (and I am sure many other firearms dealers as well) purchased additional firearms inventory to be sold at the Boomtown Casino Gun Show. I invested several thousands of dollars in doing so.

On Wednesday, April 26, 2007, I received an email (attached) from Mr. Bert Guy advising that “In light of the recent unfortunate incident at Virginia Tech”; a “Corporate Decision” had been made not to allow the display or sale of guns at the show.

Farragut Park Range Lawsuit

12.02.2006

Attention north Idahoans. Here is a letter from Dave Leptich, Idaho Fish and Game General Manager for the development of the new shooting range at Farragut state park.

The Idaho Department of Fish and Game will be responding to a law suit regarding current and future use of the Farragut Shooting Range. The suit threatens to close the range on the basis of noise and safety next week. I believe the Idaho Department of Fish and Game has a solid case based on its actions, empirical evidence and expert testimony. It is my view the Department has complied with Idaho State law and taken reasonable steps to address public concerns regarding the range.

I expect the outcome of the trial will be determined as a matter of fact and law through due process and on no other basis. The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has approached this case based on the premise that public resource management decisions should be made on the basis of evidence and not emotion. My suggestion to have people show up at the court hearing dressed in support of the range went counter to the Department’s approach to issues of this nature.

Many range supporters have asked me how they can support the range and I appreciate that support. I also understand and appreciate the concerns of local residents who oppose the range. It was inappropriate for me to suggest that supporters wear NRA logo gear, camouflage, or hunter orange at the trial to silently communicate their support of the range. My suggestion was not reviewed or approved by the Department. A formal legal proceeding is not the place for introducing an aspect of support based on emotions. I was wrong to suggest it and I apologize for that misjudgment. I hope that those people who intended to make a show of support by attending the court hearing and through their choice of clothing or other means will refrain from doing so, and let the Justice system work as it is supposed to – relying on the facts and law.

Respectfully

David Leptich

Farragut Park is the only reasonable place to have a range of this size. Lets make it happen.

Google Failed Veterans

11.16.2006

Again. For awhile now, Google has been failing to decorate their logo in observance of Veterans day. This last Veterans day has been the final straw for many. Myself included. Chad S. over at 3G made a post about it, and it helped kick start me as well.

I am cutting Google out of my daily usage. No more gmail, google toolbar, google images, google videos, and google searching. They don’t support my right to self defense through owner ship of guns, or my right to enjoy the sport of hunting, or my right to use their services, while remaining a politically unbiased company. In other words… they’re a bunch of commies, and the only good commie is a dead commie. Read the rest of this entry »

Farragut Park Range

01.26.2006

If there are any locals reading this, please consider sending a letter of support for the Farragut Park Shooting Range expansion project. Just received this letter from a supporter. It has a summary of the situation.

Farragut State park is on the south end of Lake Pend Oreille near Athol Idaho, a short distance north of Cour d’Alene. It was originally build as a Naval Training Station during World War II. They have a 1000 yard range at the park that was originally developed during the Naval Station days (I assume). The Idaho Department of Fish and Game has a plan to improve the range and make it usable for a wide variety of shooting sports. The Range developement plan outlined below explains that they want to partition the original range into several ranges. This will allow the range to be used for Highpower Competition simultaneously with shorter range events, and keep a plinking range open for the public too.

Apparently there is a small special interest group that is trying to stop the range inprovement and shut the range down for all shooting.

I wrote an e-mail to David Leptich, the manager of the project for the Idaho Department of Fish and Game and asked for particulars about the range improvement plan. His response is what you will see below this message.

I would encourage you all to send an e-mail to Mr. Leptich expressing your support for their improvement project and keeping the range open. There are so very few full range ( 600 to 1000 yard ranges) available to us in the Northwest that we need to fight to keep all of them that are available. Hopefully they will get a group together to host some highpower matches there after the range improvment project is complete.

We need to think about it. Spokane is the closest 600 yard range that we have, and they do a great job of hosting matches.

But, remember, that there is a bicycly/pedestrian path 60 feet above the target pits at the Spokane Rifle Club. If something ever goes wrong at that range, WE ARE SCREWED (sorry ladies). Having a fully functional full distance range just a few miles into Idaho with attendant camping and recreational facilities for the non-shooters in the family might be our salvation.

In addtion, if they keep 15 firing points for a 600 year range, they would be able to host Black Power Cartridge Rifle matches, Silhouette Matches and more.

Please consider sending an e-mail in support of the improvements that are proposed by the Idaho Departmetn of Fish and Game. We should have as much support for range projects from the Washington Department of Fish and Game!

You can address a letter of support to David Leptich at the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. His e-mail is dleptich@idfg.idaho.gov.

Thank you.

Support Valour-IT

11.06.2005

For those of you who do not know what Valour-IT is, it began a few months ago when milblogger TCOverride was injured by an IED. With the partial loss of some of his fingers, Cpt Chuck wanted to write home but didn’t have the means or ability too. That was when Soldiers Angels stepped in and gave him a laptop, and a faithful reader gave him a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred Software. Now Cpt Chuck was able to easily type letters to home from the Walter Reed Hospital.

From there Project Valour-IT was born.

Now there is a fund raiser drive going on. Many of the major milbloggers have banded together to raise more money for Valour-IT and seeing who can raise the most! Heres where we can do our part as patriots and donate money to make easier the lives of those who put theirs on the line.

The Fund Raising Competition is divided up by branches in the military. Below is the booster for Team Army who I’m supporting.

To view the other boosters, and to see what other bloggers are supporting this fund raiser, stop by Soldiers Angels.

Boycott Conoco-Phillips

10.15.2005

“Across the country, we’re going to make ConocoPhillips the example of what happens when a corporation takes away your Second Amendment rights, If you are a corporation that’s anti-gun, anti-gun owner, or anti-Second Amendment, we will spare no effort or expense to work against you, to protect the rights of your law-abiding employees. Their rights are worth more than your money!”

NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre spoke to a crowd of supporters at a rally in Ibedel, Oklahoma. The Weyerhaeuser Corporation recently fired several of it’s factory employees for keeping a firearm in their locked vehicles, on the company parking lot.

So now it’s our job as 2A loving patriots, to boycott the filthy anti-2A corporation.

Boycott Conoco

Sometimes The Enemy Wears Camouflage
Sunday, August 14, 2005

You might have recently heard of a new organization claiming to represent hunters and gun owners. The new group calls itself the American Hunters and Shooters Association, a friendly sounding name designed to earn the trust of gun owners and hunters. The reality is that AHSA is nothing more than the enemy in camouflage.

At first glance, everything about AHSA sounds just fine. They even have one useful tool on the website, a history of wildlife conservation laws in America–strange thing is it was lifted nearly word for word from www.NRAILA.org.

In their “Firearms Safety and Training” section we begin to see some curious remarks. For instance in the “Range Safety” section they never once mention that firearms should always be pointed downrange, the first rule in range safety. Another section recommends that shooters use steel wool to clean the barrels of their guns, an idea that makes most gunsmiths cringe. The rest of their safety tips appear to be written by someone who has never hunted. Never once do they mention the three basic rules of safe gun handling by which all shooters know and abide.

A look deeper into the AHSA website quickly reveals that this is no hunters’ rights group. You quickly realize that they want to allow the FBI to keep records on law-abiding citizens who buy guns and put an end to gun shows as we know them. Not to mention the fact that they want to regulate .50 caliber rifles in the same way that machine guns are regulated.

The most telling thing about AHSA is its leadership. A quick look at their website shows that Bob Ricker is listed as AHSA Executive Director. Readers will remember that Ricker is a former NRA employee who switched sides and has actively worked for gun control groups for many years now. A few years ago, Ricker was part of an attempt to sell out your rights by brokering a deal with the most anti-gun administration in history. He then appeared with Bill Clinton in a White House photo-op. Most recently Ricker was paid by a Virginia based anti-gun group, where he lobbied to shut down gun shows and put further restrictions on gun owners.

A little further down in the leadership section John Rosenthal is listed as President of the AHSA Foundation. Rosenthal is one of the founders of the Massachusetts based group Stop Handgun Violence, a group that has been a major force in passing some of the most Draconian state gun laws in the nation. Gun laws that Rosenthal would like to see exported to other states.

With leadership like that, there is no doubt about the true goals of AHSA. They are trying to fool hunters and gun owners with a soft sell–a la John Kerry–while working behind the scenes to end the sport that we all love. I fully expect that in the 2006 elections we will see anti-gun Congressional candidates boasting about their AHSA endorsements. Unfortunately, some gun owners will be fooled by this ploy, so help us spread the word that AHSA isn’t what it claims to be.

If there’s one thing I hate, it’s the ’snake in the grass’ operations who set out to deceive folks to get their way.

I’ll see if I can’t whip up a boycott site, to help counter this anti-gun lobby.

Mexico’s Guide to Border Crossing

01.05.2005

Tony was kind enough to bring this to my attention recently. Apparently Mexico is printing up fun comic books on how to sneak into the good ol’ US of A.

Tony mentioned writing his congressman. And I encourage anyone here to do the same. If you know of any links, websites, or organizations who are helping to try and secure our borders, I would greatly appreciate any links in the comment section. This a serious problem, and it is sapping our economy and our dollar. These illegal aliens are going to our hospitals on our dime, and it needs to stop.
