06.14.2005

The NRA announced the start up of their new hunters weblog, called Digger’s Corner. The blog will be moderated by their Manager of Hunting Policy and will include updates on legislation as well as some more lighthearted content. It will also offer an opportunity for people to send their own pictures and stories for possible posting to the blog.

Right on.

NRA Chopper

04.22.2005

I did not know this, but they made a sweet NRA chopper. And I found it while searching googles images for NRA logos. Pretty nice if you ask me. I’d ride that bad boy in a hot second.

And I’m all about the painting on the tank.

Armed Citizens & Crime Control

02.02.2005

Research by award-winning criminologist Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz reveals Americans use guns for self-defense as often as 2.5 million times a year–that`s three to five times more often than they are misused by criminals. Read the full article.

FEAR of the armed citizen and the threat of tough punishment for using a gun (or other weapons) in committing a violent crime are significant factors in both reducing and deterring crime, according to the results of a survey of imprisoned felons conducted by Professors James D. Wright and Peter H. Rossi. Read the full article.

NRA Varmint PC Game

01.03.2005

This looks like it could be pretty fun. Woulda never thought the NRA would be putting out video games. You can read more about it over here, and you can buy it right here. Maybe I shoulda just stayed home and played this game last weekend. I might have actually got me a coyote that way.

We believe, as does our sponsor the National Rifle Association, that safe firearm handling is very important. This game strives to provide education and training which promotes the goal of safe hunting practices and the proper use of firearms. The game encourages respect for the landowner and how to safely and responsibly achieve your goals as a hunter. Parents take notice, this game is a super training aid for the new hunter.

It’s good to be NRA

10.27.2004

The Freedom First Magazine that the NRA publishes for members just arrived. It really is convient, they have a center fold tear out section you take with you to the polls, and it lists all NRA endorsed candidates. It’s almost too easy!

San Fran Libs Attacking Gun Rights

10.13.2004

The NRA sent me this today,

Dear NRA Member:

U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, one of the nation`s strongest and most effective defenders of our Second Amendment rights, was viciously attacked last week by a leading anti-gun politician, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, the liberal congresswoman from San Francisco.

Congresswoman Pelosi`s relentless attacks on the character of our friend Tom DeLay is nothing short of an anti-gun plot to try to remove pro-gun leaders from the halls of Congress.

We, as NRA members and freedom loving citizens, cannot watch our friends in Congress get attacked and then do nothing about it.

NRA members across the country need to make our pro-gun voices heard — TODAY — by calling Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi`s Washington, D.C. office to express our strong support for Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

Our phone calls are needed to make Congresswoman Pelosi understand that she, John Kerry, and their anti-gun cohorts in Congress are not going to succeed in getting rid of our friend Tom DeLay. {Source Link}

So, I found her email address, and it is your job as a freedom loving, PTA reader, to submit this email to her inbox. Click and send… thats a goooooood reader. It feels good to know you’re involved in politics… doesn’t it? Of Course!

Friends of NRA banquet tonite.

09.18.2004

Just got in from tonites event. My back is killin’ me from standing so long. This year was CDA’s best year ever. Record attendance, of over 200 people, with one gun givin’ away for every ten people.

Sadly enough, I didn’t win the Springfield .45 1911 that I was tryin’ for. Turns out the lady sittin’ at our table, won both the game raffle guns, from the booth I was working. In this picture here, I’d like to point out that the older feller lookin’ at the .45, is a Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. He’s the first CMH recipient, that I have ever met, and it was a great honor.

Workin the game table, with dad Dad, CMHR, and I
Who here can guess what shirt I’m wearin under my plaid button-up?

My Old Man had a blast tonite. He went crazy and pretty much bought most every framed print, of deer scene’s and retreiver dogs, and an awesome huge rug, with a scene of an old cabin that reminds me of The Fox and the Hound. All those he won in the silent auction, save for one.

And this is where it got wild.

FNRA Today

06.22.2004

Sat down at the CDA IHOP today for our weekly meetings. Marty, who is the owner of Shooter’s Supply, a local gun/pawn shop brought in the rifle that is gonna be the grand prize at the banquet in Sept. It was excellent! A true work of beauty.

We were passing it around the table in the middle of IHOP, so we got a few stares, but I’ll bet they were all jealousy stares… It is a might attractive rifle. I’m heading down to his gun shop to take photos of it for the Lake Country FNRA website I’m working on. The picture you see on the homepage was just taken off the Christiansen Arms website, mine will be much better. I’ll drop a link to em maybe tomarrow.

Until next meeting….

FNRA meeting today

05.18.2004

Sat down with the committee today. We have been deciding on what kind of firearms to raffle and auction off at the banquet in September. The grand prize is gonna be a Christiansen Arms Custom Rifle. Pretty nice. And for the early bird raffle we’re lookin at offering a Ruger Mark II .22, target pistol. And we’re also gonna raffle off a over under shotgun to just the sponsors of the banquet.

At $30 bucks a dinner ticket, and $10 bucks for a raffle ticket, anyone who is a gambler and a shooter should be goin’ to these banquets. Find your local Event.

Now Im in the process of making us a website. So, that’ll keep up all nite again. tons o fun.

Friends of NRA committee

05.12.2004

Had a good meeting with Tom Ulik, the northwest NRA field rep, and a bunch of the involved locals. We’re tryin to figure ways on promoting the upcoming banquet. So I will be workin on a website, where folks can come to buy tickets and learn about what guns are gonna be raffled off. There is gonna be one gun given out per ten people at the banquet. They raffle these off, as well as auction off a bunch of other great stuff.

If you are a staunch supporter of the second ammendment, I would recommend finding out about your local Friends of NRA event. You could come away with some great guns or other items. Find your local event here.

The banquet is really a good time, especially if you have a fun auctioneer.

ERIK: Here is your chance to hitch up with some of the local members in your town. Here is the info

Banquet date: 6/12/2004 - California, Vista

Email Bill Marsden

You should email Bill, and ask him how to get your tickets. They usually run for about $30 bucks. Ask him to email you all the raffle prizes, and ask how to get a ticket and where the banquet is going to be held. They might be given off some sweet guns, that you could win. Try taking your old man with you, maybe even your brother. The banquet is only a month away. Git on it!
